Truth of Lakhimpur Kheri: What media reported vs what really happened?

Lakhimpur Kheri, farmers protest, fake farmers, media, left-wing media

For Lutyens’ media, the death of a person is relevant only when they can score some browny points from it. In an effort to shield the negative coverage of the Aryan Khan Drug Scandal, they tried to set up the lynching of BJP workers in Lakhimpur Kheri as an anti-farmer incident– a deliberate massacre carried out by a minister in the Modi government.

On 3rd October 2021, fake farmers created a ruckus at the protest site in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, which further took an ugly turn that led to the deaths of no less than nine people including four farmers, four BJP workers and one journalist.

Deputy CM under threat due to protests

Keshav Prasad Maurya, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh was on a visit to Lakhimpur to inaugurate 165 projects worth a total of 117 crores for the farmers. At the event, Ajay Mishra ‘Teni’, Minister of State for Home, was also present. To attend the event, enthusiastic BJP workers from all over the state were coming to Lakhimpur. The Khalistani-backed fake farmers saw this as an opportunity and started to hold a protest in the district. The place for the protest seemed to be deliberately planned as the protests were organised en route to the convoys of BJP workers.

The reports indicate that a driver in the convoy lost the balance while driving through a mob of fake farmers who were hostile and the car was thrown into the field on the side of the road, killing two protesters in the process. After that, the blood-thirsty mob started to beat the driver and other BJP workers with belts, stones, and sticks and lynched a total of 4 people to death. One of the deceased was an ABP news journalist Raman Kashyap.

Leftwing portals hijacked the incident and try to taint the truth

As usual, the leftwing media portals started to report that Ashish Mishra, son of Ajay Mishra Teni had killed the four farmers. From playing emotional cards to set the stage for opposition leaders, they tried every trick in the bag to revive their tainted careers.

Video pieces of evidence do not support the ‘left’ narrative

But as soon as the videos surrounding the incident started to come out, the truth started to overshadow the lies peddled by left-wing media. In a 24 second video, it can be clearly seen that protesters are thrashing BJP workers with sticks while they are lying on the ground after falling off a skidded car. In the video, the crushed car is also seen getting pushed off the cliff by fake farmers. Another 39-second video showed people wearing T-shirts with Bhindranwale on them and posing as farmers in Lakhimpur.
