Modi Government has surrendered before murderous mob of fake farmers

On Friday (October 15), entire India witnessed grotesque, spine-tingling images and videos of a 35-year old Dalit man named Lakhbir Singh, hung upside down, with a chopped arm, dry-crimson red blood gushing out of the nearly lifeless body still squirming in pain and a violent mob cheering vociferously on the Taliban-esque action. 

To put it bluntly, the actions of fake Taliban-Khalistan farmers had finally metamorphosed into a category that even the devil or other satanic forces will have a hard time competing with. And the Modi government, once again, akin to its other masterstrokes took to the path it knows the best – extending the silent treatment.  

Nihangs killed the Dalit man

Reportedly, the body was put on display in front of the protesting farmers’ stage at the Singhu border outside the national capital. Nihangs are accused of executing the horrifying crime over the sacrilege of the Guru Granth Sahib – the holy book of the Sikh community. 

It is imperative to note that Nihangs are a Sikh sect, distinguished by their blue robes, called Khalsa Swarupa and decorated turbans (dastarbunga) surmounted with a chakram or steel quoits. They are often associated with acts of bravery and valour and for defending the rights of the weak. However, the events of the last 24 hours have cast a shadow of doubt over their work.

There is furore across the country but the government, over 24 hours after the incident, is yet to take any concrete action. Enough video graphical evidence is present in the realms of social media platforms and yet there is a feeling of helplessness and assuredness that the killers of Lakhbir Singh would go scot-free. 

Electoral dreams stopping BJP from taking action?

Perhaps, the electoral dreams of storming back to power in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, dwarf any catastrophe of any magnitude happening around. BJP and the local administration in UP do not want to get in the bad books of the Jats of Western UP that are supporting the fake farmers. The Jats who are not supporting the fake farmers protest outrightly have a meek sentimental value attached to it because of the farmer roots. 

Thus, BJP feels that angering a substantial voting bloc is not the wisest of decisions to take, forget implementing it on the ground. Similarly in Punjab, with the ouster of Captain Amarinder Singh and the slow disintegration of Congress, BJP is fancying an opportunity of taking on SAD, AAP, and Congress. However, to do so, it needs the support of Sikhs who are blindly rallying with the Khalistanis, whose eventual goals are to tear apart the state of Punjab. 

Stop blaming Tikait, Yadav – the weak

Like a broken record, BJP’s top leaders will come out and accuse Farmer leaders like Rakesh Tikait and Yogendra Yadav for the events of that nippy October night. However, blaming the duo is just a weak attempt of washing hands off the controversy. The protest grew from its infancy to the brutal monster it is today under the nose of the BJP administration.

If the administration is still unwilling to take the decisive step of weeding out the fake farmers’ protest, then they should at least listen to the final words of a man slowly dying an agonising, painful death. 

Hopefully, the haunting words of a dying man would shake the politicians just a tad so that they drop their electoral charade and do something that resembles remotely like Justice?

“Kya hain teri ichcha”? (What is your wish), asked the accused, to which Lakhbir Singh said in his trembling voice: “Meri aakhiri iccha puri kar do, mujhe do minute neeche uttar do” (Please fulfil my last wish. Please put me down for two minutes) 

A man was previously burnt alive

This is not the first time that such barbarity has been on display at the farmer’s protest. As reported by TFI, in June, a 42-year-old man named Mukesh from Jhajjar was burnt alive by the fake farmers at the Tikri border.

If the government still doesn’t rise to the occasion and uproot the fake farmers’ protest then it wouldn’t be a hard task to infer that they have surrendered to the whims of a violent, anti-national ideology that has masked its demonic ambitions perfectly using the shroud of farmer’s welfare.
