In West Bengal, a Durga Pooja pandal ‘decorated’ with slippers sparks outrage

Kolkata, Durga Puja, Pandal, Slippers

The ‘Andolanjeevis‘ in Bengal, who leave no stone unturned in targeting the Modi government at the expense of Hindus, this time tried to bake their own political agenda regarding the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, by targeting Hindus celebrating Navaratri.

Bengali Hindus ‘decorated’ a Durga Pooja pandal with slippers and suggested that it is a mark of solidarity towards the so-called farmers.

Durga Pooja pandal ‘decorated’ with slippers

It is no longer hidden that Kolkata has become a new haven for using Hindu deities for their vile propagandas. Recently, in a shameful move, a pandal in Kolkata named Dum Dum Park Bharat Chakra pandal was decorated with worn-out and torn slippers to depict the plight of so-called farmers agitating across the nation. The slippers were lying in a heap at a side or stuck to the pandal’s inner walls like footprints.

To mark the protest against the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, Pandal’s entrance has a printed car with two actual tires attached and a figure is prostrate beneath it. In addition, the entrance also has a tractor connected with huge wings, symbolising farmers’ victory.

Earlier this year, Kolkata’s ‘artist’ Sanatan Dinda, in one of his paintings had shown Maa Durga in a hijab, and wrote, ’Maa Aaschen’ means the mother is coming.

Netizens slammed Bengal and its government

Soon after the pictures were circulated on social media, netizens slammed the government as well as Bengalis for such an atrocious act. Keya Ghosh, Vice-President, BJP Mahila Morcha of West Bengal took to Twitter to express her anger. She tweeted, “This is atrocious ! A Puja committee in Kolkata has “decorated” their Pandal with slippers !! Said it is a mark of solidarity towards Farmer Protest. So now Maa Durga will be surrounded with chappals in West Bengal. @ANI.”

Another user named Rocky tweeted, “Felt so disgusted with such ppl. Their culd be another way to show their solidarity bt u knw they need to do vulture politics. Did thy know hw poor Bengal farmers r.Are they protesting or are they been looked in by Bengal government?? Bengali farmers r dmn poor infont of Pun/HR.”

The hypocrite Bengal Government gave the farmers’ agitation a communal angle in West Bengal. Now, the question arises – has any action been taken against the perpetrators? The answer is a resounding ‘no’. Had it been any other community, the Mamata government would have taken swift and stringent action. This clearly exposes their blatant anti-Hindu feelings.
