Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah has lately become the punching bag of his fellow Islamists after he released a video yesterday, criticising the Muslims of the country for celebrating the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Rifa Jawaid, a known Islamist took to Twitter to preach Shah and said that he should focus on films instead of preaching Muslims.
“I’ve been a fan of Naseeruddin Shah’s acting but he should stick to films and steer clear of topics he has no knowledge about.. A non-practicing Muslim wants Islam to reform. I wish he had first practiced Islam before coming up with this appalling suggestion.” he tweeted.

Saba Naqvi, another fellow Islamist and a closeted Taliban sympathiser indirectly took a dig at Shah and presumably called him weak for condemning the Taliban.
“Why are so many Indian Muslims sitting up and being asked to condemn Taliban? Did they chose, elect or invite Taliban? Why are talented individuals from world of cinema falling into the trap of having to speak on this? It’s a trap and a binary” she tweeted.

Propaganda portal The Wire employee Arfa Khanum Sherwani re-tweeted the video of Naseeruddin Shah, but immediately faced a backlash from her Islamist followers who preached that Prophet had not allowed any space for reform in the religion. The prophet’s words were final and that Shah had crossed the line.
One of the self-proclaimed truth guardian netizens of Islam preached Arfa and Shah by stating, “If you feel the religion you believe in needs reformation then you should better leave that religion. How can a human do modification for better to the gods system.it is illogical. In that case u think u can decide better than god… and hence no need to follow such god.”

Having faced the wrath of the Islamist brigade, Arfa quickly took a 180 in her stance and posted a mellow down tweet to seemingly target Shah.
Arfa tweeted, “It’s not for us to certify who’s an ideal/perfect Muslim. Only Allah knows who’s the most virtuous of us all. Even I don’t agree wd everything #NaseeruddinShah said but to say he used his identity to appease majority is an equivalent of ‘SRK trying to hog limelight during Olympic’”

What did Naseeruddin Shah say?
After videos and tweets of the Islamo-leftist cabal celebrating the death of democracy and the rise of a terrorist outfit in the Taliban in Afghanistan went viral on social media platforms, Naseeruddin Shah released a video where he questioned the Indian Muslims for their allegiances.
Shah said, “Even as the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan is a cause for concern for the whole world, celebrations of the barbarians in some sections of the Indian Muslims is no less dangerous. Every Indian Muslim should ask themselves if they want reform and modernity in Islam or the barbarian values of the past few centuries,”
The 71-year-old actor referenced Mirza Ghalib’s poem and said his relationship with the almighty is informal (betakaluff). “I don’t need a political religion,” he said.

He added, “Hindustani Islam duniyabhar ke islam se humesha mukhtalif raha hai. Khuda woh waqt nalaye ki woh itna badal jaye ki hum use pehchaan bhina sake. (Indian Islam has always been different from the rest of the world. May God not bring a time when it changes so much that we don’t even recognise it),”

Naseeruddin Shah’s statement condemning the Taliban is laudable but he is the same Islamist, who has been singing the trope of intolerance for the last seven years to disparage the Modi government. Do not be surprised if he comes up with a separate video, calling out ‘Hindutva terrorism’ to counterbalance his video that has supposedly riled up the fanatics of the religion.
