Neeraj Chopra has become a national sensation. Almost everyone in the media industry, whether it be print, digital, electronic or even radio wants Neeraj Chopra to have a talk with them. After all, he is the man who has scripted history at the Tokyo Olympics and won India’s first-ever track and field gold medal. He has also become only the second man to win an individual gold at the Olympics for India after Abhinav Bindra. Naturally, he is wanted by everybody now. Talk shows, interviews, TV appearances – let’s just say Chopra is in high demand.
So, Neeraj Chopra appeared for a virtual talk with RJ Malishka Mendosa and her colleagues on Red FM. While Chopra thought that he would have a sophisticated talk with the radio jockeys and share his experience with them, what soon became of the virtual talk, was a repulsing and sick cringe-fest. To put it very simply, the bunch of women ‘Adam teased’ Neeraj Chopra, making him very uncomfortable, while the hosts themselves ended up looking like buffoons.
Despite Chopra looking uncomfortable, the radio jockey and her team were seen dancing to the tunes of ‘Ude jab jab zulfein teri, kuwaariyon ka dil machle.’ The Olympic gold medallist smiled awkwardly through the ‘performance’. The pathetic dance freestyling which does not even qualify as a performance was meant to charm Chopra, perhaps. The Gold medallist, however, was very uncomfortable throughout the cringeworthy and ridiculous dance of the women.
RJ Malishka, who has earned a reputation as “Mumbai ki Rani” was seen at the forefront of this reprehensible incident, wherein a 23-year-old man was Adam teased by a group of women much older than him. Malishka herself is 40 years old, although age did not stop her from dancing in front of a gold medallist. But that is not where she stopped. After making awkward sounds following her dance blitzkrieg, Malishka went on to ask Chopra to come closer to his screen, so that they can both have what she called a “jaadu ki jhappi”. To this travesty of a demand, Neeraj Chopra replied saying, “Namaste aise door se he.”
Ladiesssss..Yes I got the hard hitting, deep answers too but..Take the first 4 secs before the cam moves to the zoom call to guess who we are dancing for😇 ;) #udejabjabzulfeinteri and then tell me I did it for all of us😄 #gold #olympics #neerajchopra @RedFMIndia @RedFM_Mumbai pic.twitter.com/SnEJ99MK31

Ugggh! Cringe max. So basically you are perpetuating the stereotype that the man is the real achiever and women are mere mujrewalis dancing to get his attention! How sick and sexist is this. Also, you guys can’t dance to save your life.

The cheap dance performance put up in front of Neeraj Chopra has shocked the nation as a whole. It has shown how a man can get harassed by a bunch of overaged women very casually, while no feminist gathers the courage to condemn such pathetic behaviour.
Consider this, what if a woman had won a gold medal for India, and a bunch of male radio jockeys would dance in front of her, while the lead dancer goes on to even ask for a “jaadu ki jhappi”. How would the outrage look like? The incident would make international headlines, and India would be labelled unsafe for women.
Neeraj Chopra must be thanking his stars that the meeting was virtual. Nevertheless, he was simply repulsed by the cheap stunts being pulled off by RJ Malishka and her gang. Ironically, Malishka is a feminist icon in India, and she should have known better than anybody that making somebody uncomfortable with such creepy stunts is simply out of line. What Neeraj Chopra faced was outright harassment at the hands of RJ Malishka and her friends. Again, Malishka has herself waged many anti-harassment campaigns. For her to engage in such repulsing behaviour is simply condemnable.
