Sidhu, on Monday, slammed his own party’s government, led by Capt Amarinder Singh over the delay on action on the special task force’s (STF) reports on drugs. He said that it was on the priority of Congress‘ under the 18-point agenda, to punish the offenders of the drug trade.

Addressing the drugs issue, Sidhu quoted, “What investigation had Punjab police done? What action has the Punjab govt. taken? Must be brought into the public domain. Since the submission of reports, what further action did the state take in 2.5 years? Govt. must make itself accountable to the public with complete transparency.”

Sidhu also posted a string of “status report” in Punjab & Haryana High Court along with investigating statements & evidence recorded by ED that were submitted before Hon’ble Court in case of Bikramjit Singh Majithia & others involvement in Drug trafficking.

Day after Sidhu hit out at Amarinder on the drugs issue, the latter reached Delhi to meet Sonia Gandhi. However, the considerations of Amarinder’s loyalists are set to switch sides, to make way for Sidhu. A group of three ministers from the region, namely Tript Rajinder Bajwa, Sukhjinder Randhawa and Sukhbinder Sarkaria, are working round the clock to replace Amarinder with Sidhu.

Moreover, Political Strategist Prashant Kishor has also resigned from the post of Principal Advisor from Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh’s cabinet. Amarinder had appointed Kishor to design his election campaign for the next Assembly election.

As per sources, Kishor stated, “As you are aware, in view of my decision to take a temporary break from an active role in public life, I have not been able to take over the responsibilities as your Principal Advisor. Since I am yet to decide on my future course of action, I write to request you to kindly relieve me from this responsibility.”

With the loyalists switching sides and the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief, Navjot Sidhu is slamming Punjab CM Amarinder to silence him. He is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that he becomes the next Chief Minister. However, this infighting will lead to disastrous consequences for the Congress party and will ultimately benefit the BJP.
