It is said that if you have a dream and you try to fulfil it, there is no stopping you. One of the prime examples is IAS Sheena Agarwal, topper of Civil Service Exam. Since her school days, Sheena Agarwal dreamt of becoming an IAS officer. In the last year of her college, while she was in her medical internship, she decided to go for the Civil services and cracked it.

Why Sheena Agarwal left doctor Job, and rather became an IAS officer.

In her internship in rural India, Sheena witnessed the problems faced by the rural population. She thought about the issue, considering how tier 2 and tier 3 cities of India lack good health care infrastructure. Just like Buddha left his kingdom, she too left her journey of becoming a doctor, and rather became an IAS officer.

Though the journey of becoming an IAS officer was not easy. Talking about her struggle, Sheena Agarwal told that her first attempt was in 2009 while she was a junior doctor at AIIMS. In her second attempt, she managed to clear IRS, but still, she wasn’t where she wanted to be. It was her third attempt that she cracked her dream of clearing Civil service examinations. In 2011, 2 lakhs students appeared for the civil exam, out of which only 2400 students could reach the final personal interview.

Being from a small town in Haryana, where women are still refrained from basic education, getting an IAS officer is a big thing. Sheena is an example that if you have a desire to achieve, you will achieve it, no matter what. All you need is a small push. In the last ten years, MBBS graduates have made the top 200 in IAS exams five times, with Air being the number one (Dr. Sheena Agarwal 2011).

She secured 305 ranks in her previous attempt and joined Indian Revenue Service (IRS) after training in Nagpur and was selected as IAS – Toppers in IAS – Examinations 2011-12. Before becoming UPSC IAS Topper in 2011, she had a degree in MBBS and AIIMS, which she completed in 2009.

MBBS Graduate to IAS

Aggarwal Sheena, who took the CBSE Pre-Medical Test (PMT) in 2004, was her childhood dream as she was ranked 305th in the UPSC. In her previous attempt, she secured 305 ranks and joined the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and underwent training in Nagpur while being selected as a Top IAS in the IAS 2011-2012 examination. Sheena S says that when it came to preparing for service there was no contest when she opted for two optional subjects in the 2011 IAS topper, IAS, IASEXAM, AIIMS exam candidates, current IAS topper Sheena Agarwal was interviewed for a post, 24 officials topper rank 1, psychology was the top civilian topper.

Tina Dabi qualified for the exam as the best in her class in 2015 on her first attempt at the young age of 22. The Third Attempt

She took a year off from the IRS service to prepare for the audit. She thought that after she passed the state exam, she would become more active.
