Akhilesh Yadav, Priyanka Vadra and Sanjay Singh to convert to Hindusim before UP elections

With the election in many states nearing, the ‘secular’ parties that host ‘Iftar’ every year are now set to become ‘icchadhari Hindu’. Uttar Pradesh assembly elections are a few months away, and before that Akhilesh Yadav and Priyanka Gandhi are set to visit Kashi. Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP and UP in-charge Sanjay Singh is also likely to visit Kashi.

These leaders will visit the holy city in the month of Saavan and do Jalabhishek of Baba Vishwanath (as Bhagwan Shankar is known in the city of Kashi).

Congress and Samajwadi Party sailed their boats in states like Uttar Pradesh (or any other state with more than 10 per cent of the Muslim population) with Muslim appeasement. Samajwadi Party, led by Mulayam Singh Yadav, fired on Karsevaks and he proudly admits it. Congress party defends triple talaq and its former Prime Minister said that “Muslims have first right over the resources of the country”.

The parties which have taken an anti-Hindu stance throughout their existence and leaders who opposed popular Hindu movements suddenly become Hindu before the elections.

Akhilesh Yadav and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra fear that the visit of Prime Minister Modi to Kashi, his Lok Sabha constituency, would polarize Hindu voters. Therefore, they are also planning to visit Kashi in the holy month of Saavan.

While Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is practising soft Hindutva by visiting the holy Sangam in Prayagraj during the Kumbh Mela, not even hesitating to take a dip in the same, and now to Kashi in the month of Saavan, her husband refused to donate for Ram Mandir.

While conversing with a journalist in Jaipur, Robert Vadra proclaimed, “If I’ve ever donated to a church or mosque or Gurudwara, only then would I donate to the Ram Mandir. The day I see donations collected for every religious institutions alike, I shall donate for the same.”

Before the general election in 2019, Akhilesh Yadav has declared that he will build a magnificent Vishnu temple in the Chambal region. The SP leader’s included building a magnificent temple along the lines of the famous Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia. With this announcement, Akhilesh Yadav wants to put on a new gimmick of soft-Hindutva with the end goal of wooing Hindu voters to his party.

The temple, as announced by Akhilesh Yadav, would be constructed in Etawah on the condition that the people of the state bring SP back to power in UP. The tall announcement by the leader also includes a proposal to set up a 2,000 acres large city named after Bhagwan Vishnu around the premises of the temple.

Before Yadav starts practising Hindutva, he has a long list of apologies to make to Hindus. Under his rule, Akhilesh Yadav decided to withdraw cases filed against 16 prominent Muslim leaders who were involved in the Muzzafarnagar riots, the names include MP Qader Rana and Congress MP Saeeduzzaman amongst others. Clearly siding with the minority community throughout his tenure the former UP CM had also brought in many new welfare schemes which benefitted members of the Muslim community.

On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party, which is aiming to make a mark in the upcoming UP assembly elections, will make Varanasi the main centre of its politics in Purvanchal. After losing the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi in 2014, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal never visited the region.

But, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has been continuously coming to Varanasi and targeting the BJP government on different issues. AAP leaders told that Sanjay Singh will also come to Varanasi soon and discuss the strategy of the upcoming elections with the party leaders from the Purvanchal.

Parties like SP and Congress must realize that by practising soft Hindutva, they might lose even Muslim votes to Owaisi, and Hindus, who are well aware of their gimmick, would not vote for them anyway. So, this Hindutva gimmick is going to hurt the prospects of SP and Congress more than it would benefit them.
