Munawwar Rana, Yogi Adityanath

Renowned Urdu poet and Hindu hater Munawwar Rana has emerged once again. Previously known for supporting the beheading of blasphemers and open calls to bring down the Indian parliament, Munawwar Rana has most recently declared that Yogi Adityanath and his government are out to kill him, for his bravery and ability to speak truth to fascistic power. Ranting uncontrollably in a Lalaland, Munawwar Rana went on to say in interviews with Navbharat Times and TV9 Bharatvarsh that Hindus and Muslims began living in harmony during the Covid-19 pandemic, but now, politicians like Yogi Adityanath and parties like the BJP are back to flaring communal discord.

Why Munawwar Rana was deemed eligible for an interview is something which baffles us. Nevertheless, his gems during the telephonic conversations deserve coverage. Giving out the interviews in the backdrop of the Uttar Pradesh anti-terror squad (ATS) busting a mass Islamist conversion racket in the poll-bound state, Rana said, “The ATS does not know to count beyond 1000, hence they gave that figure. Otherwise, they would have claimed 4000 have been converted by now.”

This was after the has-been poet suggested that the ATS be completely dismantled, perhaps to ensure that terrorists from his community have a free run in running a riot in Uttar Pradesh and the country at large. Munawwar Rana was unyielding in his rant and went on uncontrollably making false, ludicrous claims, some of which included: Yogi Adityanath got Kamlesh Tiwari killed to demonise Muslims; the Gorakhpur Math to which Yogi Adityanath belongs is built on a land ‘donated’ by Nawab Asaf-Ud-Daulah; Yogi Adityanath might kill Mukhtar Ansari, who is currently lodged in jail, and so on.

Munawwar Rana also claimed, “Jihad does not mean to walk with swords. It means to have control over self.” The Urdu poet went on to amusingly claim that the act of speaking out against Yogi Adityanath, and by implication, Hindu leaders, is also an act of jihad. The most priceless gem which we could retrieve from Rana’s interview, however, was his claim that Yogi Adityanath was in a desperate hurry to become Prime Minister.

A massive Islamic conversion racket has been busted in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, under the aegis of which over 1,500 people were converted to Islam. UP ATS arrested two men identified as Umar Gautam and Mufti Qazi Jehangir involved in illegal religious conversions. The Islamic conversion racket run by them – with the support of Pakistan’s ISI primarily targeted the economically weaker sections of society, women, children and the disabled. The racketeers targeted deaf and mute children and illegally converted them to Islam. Others, the gang lured into Islam using money, jobs and marriages.

Munawwar Rana seems personally hurt in the aftermath of such a mass conversion racket getting exposed in Uttar Pradesh. His meltdown is most definitely delicious.
