If one thought BJP leaving its state cadre workers in West Bengal to fend for themselves from the TMC goons and Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Puri helping a leftist elite, despite not being asked were separate and mutually exclusive events then that individual is sadly mistaken. The BJP government in Uttarakhand headed by Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat on Monday appointed Dinesh Mansera, an NDTV reporter known for his Modi hatred and anti-Hindu credentials, as the Chief Media Advisor to the CM.

The appointment will be co-terminus with the post of Tirath and, as per the appointment order, will remain valid till 28 February 2022, or earlier if terminated by the chief minister. As per media reports and his LinkedIn profile, Dinesh Mansera is in charge of the Kumaon circle at NDTV. Reports say that Dinesh Mansera will “act as a bridge between the government and the media by becoming the voice of the people.”

The appointment instantly brought eyeballs and the netizens were quick to dig out Mansera’s illustrious past where he purportedly left no opportunity to target the current government and peddle his agenda.

A Twitter user named Soumyadipta expressed his anger by questioning the appointment and shared the screenshots of Mansera’s colourful vocabulary for PM Modi and the current regime.

“Today Uttarakhand BJP government appointed ex-NDTV journalist Dinesh Mansera as media advisor. He has openly ridiculed Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders in the past. He has deleted his Twitter account. Attached is the government order and some of his posts.” tweeted Soumyadipta

The fact that BJP lauds and grants lucrative government posts to those spewing venom against it 24X7 should speak volumes about how little the party cares about its followers and the workers. Any other party or left-liberal institution will never even give the courtesy of hearing those from the opposite end of the political spectrum, forget giving out a high paying job.

However, BJP doesn’t seem or at least appear to care a bit. It cost the party a golden chance to rout Mamata in West Bengal and if the trend continues, serious repercussions could be seen on the national level as people grow tired of BJP’s shoddy and ill-conceived actions.

The misplaced allegiances of the high command and the constant urge to seek approval from the Lutyens media and its aristocratic dim-witted populace is one of the reasons why the left still dominates the narrative war. And BJP, despite being in power for the last seven years has failed to create a safe space for its supposed ‘rightist-centrist’ ideology.

Reported yesterday by TFI, when ‘comedian’ Mallika Dua asked for help from actor Sonu Sood and Congress leader Deependra Hooda for procuring a critical lifesaving medicine for her mother, it was BJP MP and Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri that parachuted from above and chivalrously gave away his number on a public social media platform and informed Dua that the medicine had been arranged.

While in times as unprecedented as these, political ideologies amount to little, and any help to an aggrieved person is appreciated but the unnecessary urge of a Cabinet Minister to please a leftist elite who in the past has wished death for the BJP loyalists is something that cannot be overlooked.

The appointment of Dinesh Mansera as media advisor to Uttarakhand CM is indeed a hard pill to swallow for BJP voters and it doesn’t look like the party is anytime going back on its decision.
