Almost four years ago, in an issue on West Bengal, Swarajyamag termed West Bengal as ‘West Bengalistan’. At that time, most of the ‘intellectuals’ opined that the writers of the issues are streching the argument for sensationalism. But, four years down the line, seeing the post-poll violence in the state, one can argue that they were prophetic.
Recently West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankar visisted the families affected by the post-poll violence and told the teary eyed tale of the people. According to Dhankar, the people pleaded that they are ready to convert in order to live.

“Never ever imagined would face a situation @MamataOfficial where tearfully people will plead the constitutional head ‘will change the religion’ to live !” tweted Dhankar.
Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday visited Nandigram in East Midnapore district to meet families whose lives were affected due to post-poll violance by TMC workers.
Dhankar also questioned the silence of Mamata Banerjee over the issue. “The TMC supremo described the incident of firing by the Central Forces in Cooch Behar’s Sitalkuchi (on April 10) in which four persons were killed as ‘genocide’. But she was silent about the situation in Nandigram. Have you heard the cries and screams of the women and children in Nandigram where lakhs of people are homeless? We feel bad to see the situation of West Bengal. India has never seen such a situation previously. The state is virtually sitting on a volcano,” said Dhankhar.
Almost three decades ago, Kashmiri Hindus were brutually murdered, women were raped, and a large number of people were displaced from the Muslim majority Kashmir valley. The same is happening in West Bengal where the Hindus are facing unprecedented atrocities for supporting BJP by the goons who enjoy patronage of TMC government.
According to Dhankar, Mamata Banerjee also tried to stop his visit. “Chief Secretary @MamataOfficial to my visits to unprecedented post poll violence affected areas- “Respected Sir, it would be advisable to kindly defer the proposed visits in view of the extant restrictions, I am directed to submit. Regards’”” tweeted Dhankar.

Dhankar also assured the people of the preservation of the rights of the people in the state. “My assurance and commitment to people of State at all costs Constitution will be preserved, protected and defended. They should not loose confidence in democracy and law. I share their excruciating agony and suffering. Expect @MamataOfficial to horrendous scenario in the state,” he added.

The Hindus of West Bengal are under attack. In the last few years, the state has witnessed many anti-Hindu riots with the people who affiliated themselves with RSS or BJP being special targets. Before the assembly election, many Hindus were allegedly killed by TMC goons for supporting BJP, and even kids, women, and old-age people were not spared by bloodhungry TMC workers.
In the post-poll violence, houses and shops of Hindus were burnt to the ground in celebration of TMC’s victory and the state machinery did little to act. The situation is so bad that the Union government had to extend security to BJP MLAs in West Bengal, because TMC government officials have no control over party goons.
If the state of West Bengal does not witnesses a regime change in the next few years, the Hindus would lose another part of the subcontinent to the Muslims.
