Kerala CM Vijayan and Opp. leader Chandy criticised Palestinian extremists for killing Kerala nurse, then quickly bowed down to the Islamists of Kerala

Palestinian terrorists from the armed fundamentalist organisation Hamas killed an Indian citizen with their rocket fire over the southern Israeli coastal city of Ashkelon. The 31-year-old Soumya Santosh, who hailed from Kerala and was a caregiver to an aged Israeli woman, was killed in a rocket attack by Hamas over Ashkelon on Wednesday. The death of an innocent Indian citizen shocked many in India. However, Islamists could not be happier. In fact, they made it a point to hound all individuals even remotely calling out Hamas for perpetrating terrorism against the Jewish people – in which Soumya Santosh was killed as collateral.

Hailing from Kerala, one would have expected leaders of the state to condole her death and condemn Hamas for their jihad. As a matter of fact, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Congress leader Oommen Chandy did about half of that. Pinarayi Vijayan had reportedly mentioned Palestine in his unedited post, however, he was soon forced to edit his Facebook post and remove any references to the nurse having been killed during the Israel-Palestine clashes currently underway.

On Twitter, Pinarayi Vijayan said that Soumya Santosh was “killed in Israel” as if Palestinian terrorists or Hamas had nothing to do with her death.

Former Chief Minister and AICC general secretary Oommen Chandy also edited his Facebook post in which he had originally blamed ‘extremists’ for the death of Soumya Santosh. However, after receiving flak from Islamists in the state, Chandy edited his post to remove the references he had made against Palestine and Hamas.

That senior leaders of Kerala are being strongarmed into maintaining silence regarding the terrorism of Hamas against Israel and all non-Muslims in Israel is shocking and is a glowing indicator of how the fanatical Islamist ideology is spreading its tentacles in Kerala. According to the New Indian Express, meanwhile, supporters of Palestine reminded the Congress about the warm relations India had with Palestine when Indira Gandhi was the prime minister. They posted old photographs of Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) leader Yasser Arafat with Indira Gandhi.

The CPM went a step further, and issued a statement against ‘Israeli attack on Palestine.’ It said, “the air raids carried out by Israel on the Gaza strip led to the death of many Palestinian citizens.” A politburo statement read, “Israel is moving towards the complete occupation of East Jerusalem by attacking Palestinians who were protesting its attempt to forcefully expel residents of Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood to make way for Jewish settlements.” It further called upon the government of India to support the people of Palestine.

The killing of Soumya Santosh by Hamas’ terrorists cannot be condoled in Kerala – since the Islamists in the state have come to exercise magnanimous influence and can scare even the tallest of leaders to amend their statements. The BJP has said that the situation in Kerala has become so dangerous that both Pinarayi Vijayan and Oommen Chandy had to ‘correct’ their posts expressing sorrow over the killing of a Malayali because they are afraid of religious extremists.
