As the people in the country are coming together and collaborating to fight the coronavirus pandemic, certain elements in society are derailing this fight. And, many Congress leaders are among them as they often threaten doctors and abuse hospital staff if their close ones die.

In the latest incident, a senior Congress leader in Rajasthan – where it is the ruling party – chairman of the city council of Alwar, Beena Gupta bullied the hospital staff for not picking up her call. A woman known to chairman Beena Gupta was admitted to Harish Hospital of Alwar and she called Director Harish Gupta to know about her condition. However, Dr Gupta was busy and could pick the call. Then the chairman called the receptionist but she couldn’t pick the call because she was also busy.

An angry chairman reached the hospital, grabbed the female receptionist by the collar, and threatened to shut down the hospital. The hospital director and staff said that they are too busy dealing with the covid cases to take calls, but this did not impress the Congress chairman of Alwar city.

This is not the first time a Congress leader is threatening hospital staff and administration. In Maharashtra, Nagpur Congress corporator Bunty Shelke together with Maharashtra INC Chief Nana Patole stormed into Nagpur’s Municipality Corporation’s workplace and threatened the officers. The Congress corporator said that the officials should be burned down for their incompetence.

Also recently, much like Congress, a Shiv Sena corporator from Mumbai’s suburbs was seen making a ruckus at a Covid-19 hospital. Sandhya Doshi, who was accompanied by an individual with no masks, abused the hospital staff and administration.

Previously, in Madhya Pradesh, one of the most senior and reputable doctors was yelled at by worthless Congress brats, including former Minister PC Sharma over the death of a patient infected with coronavirus, who was brought to the Government JP hospital in critical condition.

A video of the incident, which went viral on social media, showed PC Sharma and former Congress corporator Yogendra Chouhan shouting at Dr Yogendra Shrivastava. The patient, who was in critical condition, died while being treated. That was reason enough for the Congress goons to verbally harass a senior doctor, who also happens to be the nodal officer in charge of Covid ward at the Government JP Hospital in Bhopal.

The video had shocked the nation. Following the verbal assault, Dr Yogendra Shrivastava tendered his resignation. However, after the intervention by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who adopted a no-nonsense approach and ordered the state Police to register a case against Congress MLA PC Sharma and former Corporator Guddu Chauhan, Dr Srivastava resumed the responsibility.

While the Congress and its leaders take to harassing doctors and frontline workers, the likes of Shivraj Singh Chouhan are standing by Covid warriors and requesting them to not derelict their duties due to the hooliganism of a few. Such incidents have reinforced the need for strict measures to be taken in order to protect frontline health workers from harassment, and an example must be made out of the Congress leaders who are derailing India’s fight against coronavirus.
