Naharpur DTC Bus Drive Case

A 31-year-old Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus driver hanged himself after killing his wife and two sons at their home in Naharpur village in the north of Rohini region on Thursday, police said.

In a shocking news, a DTC bus driver allegedly hanged himself after killing his wife and two sons at their residence in Naharpur village of north Rohini area, police said on Thursday.

31-year-old Dheeraj Yadav was found hanging from a ceiling fan, and the bodies of his wife and sons bore stab injuries, according to reports. Dheeraj’s wife Aarti was 28, and sons, Hiten and Atharav were 6 and 3 respectively.

Prime facie, it appeared that the DTC bus driver first stabbed his wife and children and then killed himself.

According to deputy commissioner of police (Rohini) Pranav Tayal, Yadav has left behind a suicide note, and an investigation is underway to establish the motive behind the killings.

Although the exact reason behind the crime is still being ascertained, the police are suspecting that a dispute between the couple may have led to the deaths.

The police said that the couple and their children lived on the second floor of a three-storey building.

The couple and their two children lived in a joint family. They resided on the second floor of the house, while his parents lived on the ground floor and his elder brother and his family lived on the first floor.

According to the Delhi Police, the news broke out when Yadav’s father, Maha Singh, spotted his body hanging from the ceiling fan through a window on Thursday morning. Wasting no time, Singh immediately informed the police about the incident.

Legal action has been initiated, and further investigation is in progress, said Pranav Tayal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini).

According to the Delhi Police, a knife apparently used to stab the woman and the kids. The knife was recovered from the spot and police informed that the bodies of the four will be handed over to the family after the pot-mortem.
