‘We will see you after central forces move out,’ Mamata Banerjee threatens BJP voters of dire consequences

Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, fearing that the power is slipping away from her hands has now resorted to making threatening remarks to the non-TMC voters of the state. According to a Zee News Hindi report, during a rally in Nandigram, the constituency where she is contesting the assembly polls — the TMC supremo shot out a warning to the BJP voters saying that she will come after them when the centrally deployed forces return, once the elections end.

“I keep knowledge of every inch of the elections. After the election, the security personnel sent by the central government will go back, but if our government is formed then the BJP supporters will plead with folded hands for the central security forces to be stationed for a few more days so that they (BJP supporters) could be saved,” said Mamata Banerjee.

For a significant portion of her electoral campaign, Mamata has been forced to parked her bus in Nandigram where she is fighting against heavyweight Suvendu Adhikari who had switched flanks from TMC to BJP late last year. The fight for Nandigram is Mamata’s ‘prestige battle’ and in an attempt to win the constituency she has vowed to go to any lengths, even if it involves using brazen threatening remarks to influence the voters.

Mamata and her party TMC have had problems with the central forces throughout the election campaign. After raising the EVM tampering issue, even before the first phase elections had even come to a halt, a delegation of TMC leaders had met Election Commission and urged them not to deploy armed police forces from UP, MP, Bihar, and any other BJP/NDA ruled state.

In its bizarre plea to the EC, an unhinged TMC wrote that Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Cabinet Minister of Bihar Syed Sehnawaz Hussain and other BJP leaders are star campaigners in West Bengal elections and MP Police and UP Police report to CM Chouhan and CM Yogi, respectively. Therefore, to ensure no partisan activity during the elections, armed forces from these states or any state where BJP/NDA is in power should not be deployed in West Bengal on election duty.

TMC seems to be rattled that it has not been able to create ruckus and obstacles in the electoral process due to the presence of the central-armed forces. TMC’s gameplan of storming into the power involved booth capturing and rigging the elections. However, anticipating such antics, the EC had deployed central forces in numbers in the state and now ‘Didi’ is so agitated that she has turned to retch threatening remarks.
