RT – formerly referred to as Russia Today, carries forward Moscow’s perception and point of view of all that is happening around the world. RT has historically been friendly in its coverage of India, epitomising the deep friendship between New Delhi and Moscow. With the farmers’ protests raging internationally more than they are being paid heed to domestically in India, RT is shining as one of the very few global media organisations which side with India and give a balanced view of things. Further, when it comes to choosing between eco-fascist Greta Thunberg and India, RT has loudly chosen the latter.
RT’s coverage of the farmers’ protest has been brilliant, to say the least. The Russian media organisation has kept itself away from needless rants against India and the Modi government and has most certainly not indulged in virtue-signalling or name-calling the democratically elected majority government of India. Additionally, RT is perhaps the only international media organisation which has paid heed to the Khalistani nexus and cabal which is behind the fake farmers’ agitation. One may ask, why is RT siding with India in such a vociferous manner?
The answer is simple. The Kremlin is making it abundantly clear to New Delhi, and the world community at large that it sides with India on the issue of the farmers’ protests while acknowledging the international efforts to defame and destabilise the Modi government.
Also, the Russian government is making it known that while the West and its deep states look to destabilise India and impede its massive growth, Moscow wholeheartedly stands with its old friend. Russia is not threatened by the growth of India and truly considers us a friend is a simple message coming out of Moscow.
RT has published various stories and op-eds regarding the farmers’ protests, especially after the Google toolkit mistakenly shared by Greta Thunberg exposed an international conspiracy to defame India.
In an op-ed titled: Activism for hire? By ditching climate change for Sikh separatism, Greta Thunberg shows her naivety and erodes her credibility, RT intricately explained how Greta Thunberg, until recently known over the world for lambasting leaders at the United Nations, has been slipping into irrelevance. According to RT, Greta’s ‘what next’ moment was her switching over from climate activism to becoming a proponent of ‘Sikh separatism’.
‘What does Sikh separatism have to do with the school protests Greta pioneered, or climate change, for that matter?’

In other pieces too, RT did not shy away from headlining its pieces with lines which made it clear that Greta Thunberg and other celebrities were simply tweeting in favour of the farmers’ protests due to the fact that the ‘defame India’ campaign is part of a multimillion-dollar project.
RT, via its coverage of the farmers’ protests, has made it clear that Moscow is well aware of international, particularly western designs to destabilise India. In face of such aggression being directed against India, Russia is standing firmly with New Delhi.
Already, the designs of vested interest groups and western powers are failing spectacularly as India takes the challenge head-on, and replies in the same language are being hurled at it. With Russia on its side, New Delhi is all set to crush the global propaganda being waged against the people of India, and the country’s democratic ethos.
