Kasganj case: UP Police avenges its slain cop by encountering the so called Liquor Mafia king of the area

In the last few years under the Yogi government, Uttar Pradesh Police has set many examples of how to deal with criminals and mafias in the state. In one such latest example, the Uttar Pradesh Police encountered and terminated the liquor mafia, who, along with his gang, attacked and killed one constable and injured many others in the district of Kasganj.

On February 9, a constable and sub-inspector went to serve a warrant to the liquor mafia, Moti, in the Kasganj district. The liquor mafia, his brother, and other gang members beat the constable to death and seriously injured the sub-inspector.

An enraged UP Police started looking for the gang with a large team and killed the brother of the mafia, Elkar, on the same day within 12 hours. However, the main accused, Moti, ran away. UP Police searched the surrounding areas for 12 days and finally succeeded in terminating Moti, who was hiding in a nearby jungle along the Kali river.

“The police in retaliation and self-defence fired at the criminals in which Moti was injured, while another criminal escaped taking advantage of the darkness. Injured Moti was taken to a primary health centre in Siddhpura from where he was referred to Kasganj district hospital. The doctors there declared him dead during treatment. Police also recovered the looted pistol (of the sub-inspector), cartridges and a country made pistol from the accused,” said the local SP.

Yogi Adityanath is working hard towards the mess left over by subsequent years of SP and BSP’s rule over Uttar Pradesh, under whose regimes, criminals flourished like never before, and were able to attain a supreme-leader like status in their areas of influence, by inflicting terror upon ordinary citizens.

In the last four years, the UP CM has set a textbook example of how to deal with criminals and mafias. Be it the encounter of Vikas Dubey or the latest action against liquor mafia Moti, the UP Police under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath has led by example.

Yogi Adityanath’s commitment to ensure the maintenance of law and order in the state is not a subject of debate. Such was the ferocious enforcement of the law after Yogi took over the reins in 2017, that erstwhile gangsters and criminals were willingly surrendering before the UP Police, as they thought the jails to be a safer place to be in.

At no point in time has the state police been told to tone down its actions, instead, it has been given a completely free hand by Chief Minister Yogi himself to bring down the crime rate in the state.
