In a shocking turn of events being reported out of Mallapuram, Kerala, the 1921 Malabar massacre of Hindus, also known as the Moplah Massacre was re-enacted by the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its Islamist activists on the streets of Tenhipalam town. An outrageous video of the same glorification rally has now gone viral on social media, and Islamists can be heard chanting Islamic slogans like Allahu Akbar, la ilaha illallah muhammadur rasulullah, etc. Such was the enactment of the massacre on its 100th centennial, that PFI chose to do a rally parading men dressed in RSS uniforms on the streets as prisoners of their Muslim victors. The men being paraded were also chained.
The said men, portrayed as activists, were depicted as Hindus. The rally also had people dressed as British officers, chained and tied with ropes, with the other end of the ropes held by people of the Muslim denomination. The RSS activists and British officers were followed by a large group of people holding lathis and donning skullcaps. The PFI intended to celebrate the centenary year of the Moplah massacre, and as visible, has kicked off the festivities with quite a gut-turning amount of bravado.

The number of Hindu deaths as a result of the genocide in Moplah amounted to around 10,000, and it is also estimated that over 100,000 Hindus were forced to leave Kerala in the wake of the massacre. Annie Besant described the events in her book ‘The Future of Indian Politics’ as: “They murdered and plundered abundantly, and killed or drove away all Hindus who would not apostatize. Somewhere about a lakh of people were driven from their homes with nothing but the clothes they had on, stripped of everything. Malabar has taught us what Islamic rule still means, and we do not want to see another specimen of the Khilafat Raj in India”.
Not only were 10,000 Hindus killed and over 100,000 displaced, but close to 100 Hindu temples were also destroyed by Islamists during the massacre. Notably, the then pro-Khilafat leaders had passed resolutions of “congratulations to the Moplahs on the brave fight they were conducting for the sake of religion.” Times Now has reported that the celebration of the Moplah massacre was held all across the country, and the event at Mallapuram in Kerala was the only one that managed to grab the media’s attention.
The rally held in Kerala symbolises how Islamists will effectuate similar massacres against Hindus across the country at the drop of a hat. The all-pervasive anti-Hindu sentiment among Islamists poses a real danger to the majority community, who will not shy away from chaining the supposed ‘oppressors’ when given the opportunity. It will truly be sad if the Modi government still fails to ban PFI and similar Islamist organisations like it.
