AIMPLB is planning to launch a Sharia compliant web series and the reason behind it appears very sinister

All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), which is always in controversy, is all set to come up with a Sharia-compliant web series and a bilingual legal journal to spread awareness about Sharia and Indian laws, and explain court judgments to Muslims.

Yes, you heard it right. All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) will now bring-in a web series to teach Muslims the Sharia laws. Moreover, the same will be taught in Urdu and English in a legal journal.

Announcing the same, AIMPLB, through its official handle, tweeted, “The working committee of AIMPLB passed a resolution to start a Sharia awareness web series. It also decided to start a legal journal in the Urdu and English languages.”

Through the web series, the AIMPLB wants to “educate” the Muslims as well as the wider literate audience about the justification behind Sharia law, and its inhumane practices. So, one can expect the web series to come up with justification about the practices like triple-talaq, nikah-halala, burqa, Waqf, and so on, which have kept the Muslims backward for centuries.

“The series will be done in an interview-discussion format… The series will analyse high court and supreme court judgments so that common people can understand them. Not just Sharia, we will also focus on the country’s laws and judgments,” said AIMPLB General Secretary Syed Mohammad Wali Rahmani.

Moreover, an advocate has been asked for a blueprint for the legal journal in English and Urdu – which AIMPLB plans to launch very soon to explain the court judgments and “present it to the general secretary”. The law board has even decided to launch an awareness program among Muslims about Waqf properties, which is, obviously, an attempt to ‘inform’ the community that sites like Krishna Janmabhoomi and other religious sites where there is a dispute of them actually belong to the Muslims.

“…The Waqf Act was prepared and approved after a lot of hard work. It has provisions to safeguard Waqf properties from being sold. But efforts are being made from several quarters to make changes to these provisions, which can threaten the safeguarding of Waqf properties. So, it was decided that for the safety of Waqf properties, a campaign should be launched across the country,” reads the statement released by AIMPLB in Urdu.

Most of the Sharia laws are predatory and the attempt by the AIMPLB to justify them is shameful. The same Sharia laws allow Muslim men to enjoy the liberty to divorce and remarry a woman twice. Several reports of Muslim women being sexually exploited under the garb of Nikah halala have also surfaced.

As India progresses ahead and makes way for equal rights for women, free from pseudo-secular bias, these archaic practices call for major reforms and ultimately pave a way for Uniform Civil Code to be implemented so that women from all the communities can enjoy equal rights, which the constitution guarantees them. Thus, unconstitutional bodies like AIMPLB, which want to rule Muslims through illegal means, must be scrapped as soon as possible.
