Has Yogi launched a counter academy to take on Raza Academy that exclusively trains Muslims for IAS exams?

In the last few years, leaders of the Muslim community are trying hard to give free UPSC coaching to ‘minority students’ (such minorities being only Muslims for them, which is an entirely different debate). Publicly funded organisations like Ministry of Minority Affairs already sponsors free IAS coaching in Jamia University for the Muslims students. Other private institutions like Raza Academy and semi-private institutions like Haj Committee of India are also financing the Civil Services coaching institutions for Muslim students and this has led to an increase in the number of Muslim students qualifying for these competitive exams.

However, this has led to resentment among the Hindus. Therefore, the Yogi government has announced that all the people of the state, irrespective of the religion, caste, or gender, would get free coaching (online and offline) to prepare for competitive examinations. The officers of the state government would give lectures at the different centres of the coaching institute that would be named ‘Abhyudaya’. The institution will start from Basant Panchami – the festival when Hindus pray of Devi Saraswati- the Hindu goddess of intellectual pursuits.

The coaching for the Muslims was getting widespread support in Uttar Pradesh. Even the Haj committee had asked for funds from the Ministry of Minority Affairs for the coaching. “We had requested the ministry (of minority affairs) to start free coaching service in Haj Bhavans in different states. We are happy that the minority affairs minister has approved the proposal. We want to start the (coaching) service from next year. We will implement this with the state Haj boards,” said Maqsood Ahmed Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Haj Committee of India, when the plan to start coaching at Haj houses was being executed.

The Yogi government wants free and fair access for everyone in government services. So far, the people who have access to good coaching centres due to good financial background used to have a better probability of clearing the exams. The special efforts of private Muslims institutions such as Raza academy, as well as on the part of the government through the Ministry of Minority Affairs, has put a large section of poor Hindu students at disadvantage.

Now with the efforts of CM Yogi Adityanath, the coaching facility by the UP government would provide free and fair access to everyone and not only the Muslim students. Given the fact that the coaching classes would be online as well as offline, even the students in the remote areas would have the access to lectures of the best of the teachers as well as the professionals in the field. Uttar Pradesh under the Yogi administration, like a true secular non-partisan state, will thus be fair to everyone irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, gender or other identities.
