Such is the fear of Yogi that people owning illegal properties are razing their own properties to the ground

YOGI, UP

The Yogi government is well-known for its badassery against those who do not want to adjust to the new regime and become law-abiding citizens. A few months ago, the Yogi government bulldozed the illegal properties of criminal politicians and made them pay for the demolition of their buildings. This has instilled so much fear among the criminals and criminal-politicians that they are themselves demolishing their illegal construction.

MLA Vijay Mishra constructed a four-floored shopping complex in Prayagraj. However, given the fact that he has the legal right to construct only two floors, the third and fourth floors were illegal. Now Vijay Mishra is willingly demolishing the illegal floors of the building on his own.

Previously, the Lucknow Development Authority recently demolished the property of gangster-turned-politician Mukthar Ansari in Dalibagh colony in the state capital and sent a stern warning to criminals around the city.

Moreover, after the notorious gangster, Vikas Dubey had chillingly killed 8 police officers; the UP administration wasted no time in coming down heavily on Dubey’s property. The Kanpur District Administration used bulldozers to demolish Vikas Dubey’s house in the Bikru village.

The house was vacated, after which it was brought to the ground by a lone bulldozer. The luxury vehicles of the gangster were also destroyed, and the house is said to have included expensive furniture and electronic gadgets, all of which lie in ruins post the demolition of the house.

Cities like Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Noida, and Meerut are being freed of the criminals, gangsters, and extortionist politicians because the government wants to make the state business-friendly, which won’t be possible without destroying parallel organs of power. The politician-criminal-extortionist nexus, which made the state fall in the bottom of the ease of doing business list, is being removed altogether.

Yogi Adityanath government in the last few years, has shown a zero-tolerance policy against the criminals. Since the time he assumed the position of the CM, Yogi Adityanath has been obstinate on culling the gangster-culture of the state, which had been allowed to fester unchecked for long under the previous regimes.

The fear of the government, police, and administration is making the criminals who used to run parallel administration fall into line. And, therefore, the industrialists are now willing to set up factories and invest in the state. In the last three years, the state has received an investment of more than 2 lakh crore rupees, which would not have been possible without ‘rule of law’.

The ‘Jungle Rule’ isn’t good for the economic development of any state and therefore, law and order have been the top focus of the Yogi administration since 2017. Such is the ferocious enforcement of law after Yogi came into power in 2017 that many gangsters and criminals are willingly surrendering before the UP Police, as they deem the jails to be a safer place to reside in. At no point in time has the state police been told to tone down its actions, instead, it has been given a completely free hand by the Chief Minister himself to reduce the crime rate in the state.
