‘Khoon ki nadiyaan baha denge,’ Rahul Gandhi’s close aide and Beant Singh’s grandson has this to say on farmers’ protest

Farmers' protests, Ravneet Singh Bittu, Beant Singh

Ravneet Singh Bittu, a Congress MP from Ludhiana constituency and a close aide of Rahul Gandhi, said, “Hum laashon ka dher lagayenge, hum apna khoon bahayenge (which loosely translates into- We are ready to pile up dead bodies; we are ready to shed our blood)” if the government does not accept our demands. Supporting the farmers’ protests, he further threatened the Centre, saying, “Hum kisi bhi had tak jaane ke liye taiyaar hain” (we are ready to go to any means) if the government is not ready to give up.

He said that the Modi government is making a mistake if it thinks that the protestors will go back to their homes and the ongoing farmers’ protests are going to end by the first of January. He said, “hum ek tareekh ke baad nayi planning ke saath aayenge (We will come up with a new plan after 1st)”.

Interestingly, Bittu, who is now talking about the dead bodies and giving fiery statements inciting violence, lost his grandfather Beant Singh (former CM of Punjab who is credited with ending Khalistan militancy) in a terrorist attack by Babbar Khalsa International, an international Khalistani militant group.

Only a few days ago, the protestors were even seen using the poster of Khalistani terrorist Jagtar Singh Hawara in the farmers’ protest. As per a tweet by popular verified user Anshul Saxena, a poster of Jagtar Singh Hawara, terrorist of Babbar Khalsa- the mastermind behind the assassination of 12th Chief Minister of Punjab, Beant Singh- had been put on display the site of farmers’ protest, near the Singhu border.

“Poster of Jagtar Singh Hawara, terrorist of Babbar Khalsa displayed at farmers’ protest at Singhu border. He’s behind the assassination of 12th CM of Punjab, Beant Singh. Total of 17 people were killed. What does his poster have to do with farmers?” tweeted Saxena with the aforementioned poster.

Previously Bittu himself admitted that the farmers’ protests have been overtaken by the non-farmer elements. “The agitation has gone out of control. My appeal to farmer leaders is to get its hold back. All kinds of undesirable elements have entered the protests which are genuine farmer protests,” Bittu told The Tribune on December 1.

He said that the people “whose protests have failed in the past – be it those who sat in agitation at Shaheen Bagh or a section of students who protested against the Citizenship Amendment Act and also some Khalistani elements have penetrated the ongoing protests.”

The people like Bittu, who themselves accept that the farmers’ protest has been overtaken by Naxals, Khalistanis, anti-CAA people, and everyone other whose protests failed the past, are instigating the people with statements like ‘We are ready to shed blood; We are ready to pile up dead bodies.’

Previously an alleged farmer sitting in the farmers’ protest, also talked about violence and bragged that Sikhs have killed Indira Gandhi. An alleged farmer was heard saying, “December 3 ko meeting hai, agar hal koi hua toh thik hai nahin toh…aap jaante nahin…hamare shaheed Udham Singh ne goro ko Canada me jake thoka…Indira thok di…Modi ki chhati mein…”(If no solution is reached at in the December 3 meeting, you don’t know, our shaheed Udham Singh shot the colonisers in Canada. Indira Gandhi was taken down. Similarly, in Modi’s chest…”).

The people like Bittu, Yograj Singh, and the aforementioned farmer are changing the route of the ongoing farmers’ protest entirely by continuously threatening that if the government does not accept their demand, they will resort to violent means.
