‘Ram Naam Satya Hai ki yatra ab nilakne wali hai,’ Yogi vows to take tough action on Love Jihad menace

In light of recent incidents across the country where it has been seen that Hindu women are being coerced into marriage and subsequently being forced to convert to Islam by radicalised men looking to expand their religion’s demographic base in India, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has indicated his government’s commitment to bringing in a stringent law against the menace of ‘love jihad’. The Chief Minister also took cue from a very recent ruling of the Allahabad High Court, which stated that religious conversion just for the purpose of marriage was not acceptable.

“Conversion of religion to Islam, in the present set of facts, of the girls without their faith and belief in Islam and at the instance of the boys, solely for the purpose of marriage, cannot be said to be a valid conversion to Islam religion,” Justice Tripathi of the Allahabad High Court said.

‘Love jihad’ has sprung into public discourse once again, ever since Tanishq jewels took to virtue-signal Hindus and paint a highly distorted image of what interfaith marriages into certain households looked like for non-Muslim, particularly Hindu women. Nikita Tomar was then murdered in Faridabad by one Tauseef only days ago, owing to her reluctance to be kidnapped by the psychopathic man and be converted to Islam only to marry him.

Uttar Pradesh is itself a prime victim of love jihad, which is why Yogi Adityanath has finally sounded the death knell of the Islamist practise, and has vowed the strictest possible action against culprits of the same. “Allahabad High Court said religious conversion isn’t necessary for marriage. Govt will also work to curb ‘love-jihad’, we’ll make a law…I warn those who conceal identity and play with our sisters’ respect. If you don’t mend your ways your ‘Ram naam satya’ (final Hindu funeral chant) journey will begin.” The UP-Chief Minister further added, “The posters of those involved in love jihad will be put on all road crossings.”

It is important to mention here that in August itself, Yogi Adityanath had directed senior officials of the state Home Department to prepare a plan to stop incidents of love jihad. The state government is currently working on a strategy to curb love jihad and forced conversions, and is also studying the feasibility of bringing in a special law to curb the same. By the looks of it, a law to put an end to love jihad seems to be imminent, and the Yogi cabinet might just bring in an ordinance to the same effect anytime now.

Earlier, as reported by the Hindustan Times, an official had revealed that “…the CM has directed that a concrete strategy be made to control such incidents (of forced conversions and cruelty). It has often been seen that this is being done in an organised manner. If required, an ordinance can be brought for it.” Once again, when it comes to protecting the Sanatan way of life, Yogi Adityanath is seen setting an example for the country as a whole to follow.
