‘Indira thok di. Modi ki Chhati mein…’ Congress-backed farmers’ protest in Punjab becomes a Khalistani agitation

Punjab

The alleged farmers of Punjab, who have been protesting against the revolutionary farm laws passed by the Parliament during the Monsoon session early this year, are now seeing their well-oiled campaign being hijacked by Khalistani elements, who on the way to the national capital over the past few days, showed their true face. It is shocking how a vociferous anti-government campaign is being turned into an anti-national one due to the involvement of separatist elements. In fact, on more instances than one, such elements did not shy away from coming in front of the media and making outrageous declarations.

TFI had yesterday reported how the mere pursual of vested interests by certain groups and political parties has managed to spread misinformation in Punjab like wildfire. The fictitious snatching of farmers’ land by industrialists, supposed doing away with the MSP regime and garnishing of the same false narratives with religious toxicity with the active support of diaspora separatists has ensured that a Communist dystopia is created in the minds of Punjab’s farmers, who now think of the Modi government as their sworn enemy. In line with the same, one can now see posters galore of separatist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in the protests. Additionally, alleged farmers are also issuing threats to Prime Minister Modi.

In one of the videos from the protests, one of the demonstrators can be seen threatening PM Modi with dire consequences if an immediate solution is not reached at in the upcoming meeting between the farmers and the Centre on December 3 over the farm laws. An alleged farmer is heard saying,“December 3 ko meeting hai, agar hal koi hua toh thik hai nahin toh…aap jaante nahin…hamare shaheed Udham Singh ne goro ko Canada me jake thoka…Indira thok di…Modi ki chhati mein…”(If no solution is reached at in the December 3 meeting, you don’t know, our shaheed Udham Singh shot the colonisers in Canada. Indira Gandhi was taken down. Similarly, in Modi’s chest…”).

In some other videos, the alleged farmers are heard wishing death upon Prime Minister Modi:“haye haye modi mar gaya, mar gaya bhai mar gaya.”As another instance in the video, the demonstrators shout, “Ikki dukki chakk deyange, dhaun te goda rakh deyange (Everyone will be knocked out, their necks will be under our feet).” Two hours into the video, a protestor heaps praises on Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, while suggesting that PM Modi is the enemy of protesters. “Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan is our friend. Our enemy is sitting in Delhi,” the man is heard saying.

The simple fact that no other state of India is witnessing its farmers taking to the streets shows that Punjab’s farmers, to put it simply, have been fooled by political parties and vested interest groups. As a matter of fact, no such protests were witnessed in Punjab when the said laws had already come into existence, albeit as Central government ordinances. It was only in the Monsoon session that the issue of three farm laws being anti-Punjab gained prominence.

This shows that a very dirty game is being played by Khalistani elements under the garb of farmers’ protests. Under the cover of farmers’ protests, separatist elements are peddling their vile agenda unabashedly before the media of the country. The government will be well advised to deal with such elements with an iron fist so that their devious plans do not fructify in the times to come.
