After Uttar Pradesh, Haryana government decides to crush the menace of Love Jihad in the state

The cold-blooded murder of Nikita Tomar has stirred discussions in the country’s mainstream politics about love jihad, however, no coercive action to tackle the menace has been taken. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has already spoken about bringing a law against it. At the same time, there are reports of legislation being in the works from the Haryana government too, with cabinet minister Anil Vij giving an indication about fresh legislation to counter love jihad.

At a time when the country is witnessing shocking new cases of love jihad, the dastardly murder of Nikita Tomar by a certain Tauseef has shocked the nation. Tauseef, a member of the family of a Congress leader, murdered the youth, Nikita Tomar, in Ballabhgarh, Faridabad, in broad daylight as she refused to be smitten by Tauseef’s “charms” and convert to Islam.

Meanwhile, Anil Vij, a cabinet minister in the Manohar Lal Khattar government made a big announcement on Twitter that the Haryana government is also considering enacting a law against Love Jihad soon.

Anil Vij’s statement has come at a time when the anger of the people against love jihad in the state and the country is raging and people are now openly talking about this issue.

From the Vishwa Hindu Parishad to the Mahapanchayat, all have spoken about the importance of taking this matter seriously. During these sensitive times, there have been protests in many places in the state, including violence in many places.

Perhaps Vij’s statement can be read as a byproduct of the massive public outrage which has forced the hand of the Khattar government to follow the footsteps of the Yogi Adityanath government and ensure steps are taken to curb the cases of love jihad.

The Yogi government has adopted a no-nonsense approach against anti-human crime from the very beginning. Recently, CM Yogi had also given a statement that those who attempt to change their names and get married, thereby hoodwinking people, will not be spared.

Before the cold-blooded murder of Nikita Tomar, love jihad was considered a myth, however, things have now changed. Public outrage has finally forced state governments to shed political correctness and tackle the issue.
