After 492 years of wait, Hindus will finally celebrate a Grand Diwali at Ram Mandir

Ram janmabhoomi diwali

After 492 years, the Deepotsav, which gave birth to the celebration of Deepawali, will be celebrated once again in the courtyard of Lord Ram, i.e. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex. On the auspicious occasion of Diwali this year, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath has ensured that this Diwali will be celebrated not only on the banks of the Saryu River in Ayodhya but also in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex.

“This time, Deepawali will be celebrated in Ram temple premises, it is unique and amazing. Many such incidents happened, due to which Shri Ram had to live in tarpaulin for 28 years. This time, the glimpse of Deepavali celebrated in Ayodhya in the Treta Yug will be seen,” said Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ram temple.

Earlier, Diwali was celebrated in the premises within a very limited scope and only the priests were allowed to light the lamp. This time around, on the occasion of Diwali, special prayers will be offered in the temporary temple of Ram Lalla. As is the norm every year, Ram is ready to set a new record in Paidi and for this 5,51,000 diyas will be burnt all over Ayodhya. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be present in Ayodhya on 13 November.

Acharya Das added, “Earthen lamps will be lighted in the entire area of the temple. `Aarti’ will be performed by the chief minister and will attract a lot of people. This Diwali will the symbol of Treta Yuga.”

It is pertinent to note that a grand Ram temple existed in Ayodhya which was demolished by the Mughals in 1528 under the leadership of Mughal Akrant Mir Baqi.

When the disputed structure of Babri Masjid at the site of Janmabhoomi collapsed, a long judicial battle ensued to reclaim it, which finally culminated on the historic day of 9 November 2019, as the Supreme Court in a unanimous verdict paved the way for the historic Ram Mandir thereby reverently delighting his devotees.

Meanwhile, from 2018, Yogi Adityanath resumed a unique tradition, transforming Deepawali into a cultural festival, where the entire Ayodhya city, especially the banks near the river Saryu, would glow from the lamps. Not only this, while rekindling India’s cultural ties, the Yogi government also invited the President of South Korea to this unique Diwali, as it’s popular in folklore that a prince of Korea was also married to the princess of Ayodhya.

Now, taking the Diwali to a new level, the construction work of the grand Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh has started and the temple will be ready in the next three years. India is set to witness one of the grandest Diwali this year, after 492 years.
