“Shaheen Bagh blockade was sponsored by BJP” says AAP, gets e-lynched by Islamists

Shaheen Bagh, AAP, BJP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is in a deep trouble, with a major vote bank of theirs currently being rendered infuriated by the party for their claims of the Shaheen Bagh protests being pre-planned and orchestrated by the BJP only to reap political benefits in the February polls. Islamists, for whom the manufactured ‘protests’ of Shaheen Bagh are an emotive issue to this day were visibly hurt with AAP’s childish claim. AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj made the claim a day after several members of the Muslim community from Shaheen Bagh area, including activist Shehzad Ali, joined the BJP.

“The whole Shaheen Bagh protest was scripted by the BJP. The topmost leadership of the BJP scripted every step of these protests…They decided who will speak what, who will attack whom and then who will be doing the counterattack. All these things were pre-planned and well-scripted,” AAP’s Bharadwaj claimed. Further adding salt to the injuries of those who pretended to resist the Indian state during the winter months at Shaheen Bagh, the AAP spokesperson probed, “Today the question is: does the BJP want to give a message that the people who used to raise anti-national slogans will now be part of the BJP?” AAP has essentially agreed to the Shaheen Bagh protestors being anti-nationals who raised slogans to the same effect.

Islamists and sympathisers of the likes of Umar Khalid, Safoora Zargar and Tahir Hussain have taken serious offence to the frivolous allegations of the AAP, and have minced no words in calling out Arvind Kejriwal, who for the past few months has been overdoing his act of being a political good-boy. As a matter of fact, the Aam Aadmi Party is also running a social media campaign to assert their proposition of anti-CAA protestors being complicit with the saffron party.

Islamist trolls were naturally outraged. While AAP’s claims of the Shaheen Bagh protests being backed by BJP are infantile, the party born out of the momentum provided by ‘India Against Corruption’ movement nevertheless made their newfound stand on the Islamist protest clear that it was not more than a grand charade meant to dupe people into believing fictitious ideas which were far from reality.

While AAP may appear holier-than-thou at the given moment, courtesy their rather explicit calling out of the Shaheen Bagh protests, it must be remembered that this is the same party whose councillor, sacked after the Delhi riots – Tahir Hussain had admitted to masterminding the anti-Hindu riots. The former AAP councillor has been charge-sheeted and accused of murder and orchestrating the infamous Delhi riots.

AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan has been consistently defending Hussain and alleging that he is being ‘targeted’ for merely being a Muslim. Khan is himself accused of inciting violence in Delhi on December 15, 2019, amid the nationwide manufactured anti-CAA protests.

Manish Sisodia, Kejriwal’s deputy had, before the Delhi elections voiced his unequivocal support for the protestors at Shaheen Bagh, who by the way had no clue as to what CAA was, and were also protesting against a nationwide NRC which has till date not been rolled out. Sisodia had said that he “stands with Shaheen Bagh”.

The AAP therefore, has its hands dirty too, and while it can put flimsy blames upon the BJP for orchestrating Shaheen Bagh, it must never forget that the Northeast Delhi riots saw an active participation of some of its leaders and workers. The protestors and organisers of Shaheen Bagh protest, meanwhile, who were fed well and allegedly paid extravagantly too, stand isolated like never before.
