It’s Ex-Attorney General vs Salman’s lawyer and Rhea Chakraborty is in big BIG trouble

Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty

Rhea Chakraborty finds herself in a tough spot, with the entire nation’s anger being directed against her owing to the new revelations which have surfaced not just from India’s electronic media, but also from Patna, where Sushant Singh Rajput’s family has filed an FIR against the late actor’s girlfriend and her family members.

Days after the alleged suicide of Sushant, it was Rhea Chakraborty herself who had taken to social media to tag the Union Home Minister Amit Shah pleading for a CBI investigation into his death. Now, the same Rhea Chakraborty is having her legal team run from pillar to post to get a stay on the investigation from slipping into hands of the Bihar Police, which is taking action on the case as a result of an FIR filed against the late actor’s girlfriend, filed by his father.

Rhea Chakraborty’s legal team is comprised of the Satish Maneshinde. Maneshinde has in the past represented the likes of Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan. While Satish defended Sanjay Dutt in his alleged involvement in the 1993 Mumbai blasts, Salman Khan was defended by the legal eagle in 1998 over the superstar allegedly poaching a blackbuck. It is important to note that Satish Maneshinde is one of the most expensive lawyers in India. He has also been appointed as the special public prosecutor in the Palghar lynching case where two Sadhus were brutally lynched to death by a bloodthirsty mob.

While Rhea has Maneshinde to boast of, the Bihar government has appointed India’s former Attorney General and a formidable advocate, Mukul Rohatgi to oppose Chakraborty’s interim prayer that the probe by the state’s police be stayed till the Supreme Court decides her plea on the transfer of investigation from Bihar to Mumbai. Soon after Rhea moved the Supreme Court, Sushant Singh’s family filed a caveat seeking that her petition not be allowed to be heard “ex-parte” in their counter-petition.

For a person seeking a CBI investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, to now demand a stay on the probe by Bihar Police in the matter reeks of a guilty conscience. Yesterday, Rhea Chakraborty’s legal team released a cringe-fest of a video, where she was quite emotional, and as a consequence, teary-eyed.  “I have immense faith in god and the judiciary. I believe that I will get justice. Even though a lot of horrible things are being said about me on the electronic media, I refrain from commenting on the advice of my lawyers as the matter is sub-judice,” Rhea Chakraborty said in the video, her hands folded. She concluded, saying, “Satyameva Jayate, the truth shall prevail.”

The video of Rhea Chakraborty comes a day after another video of the actor went viral on social media, where she boasted among a group of friends of having control over her boyfriend. In the undated video, Rhea can be heard saying, “I can easily control him.” She goes on to add, “I am the bigger don, I know how to manipulate these smaller goons. My boyfriend also thinks that he is a gangster, but he does not know that I am the actual don.”

The FIR filed against Rhea Chakraborty entails the following charges: IPC Sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating).

The Enforcement Directorate, India’s premier central agency which investigates financial crimes has meanwhile registered a case against Rhea Chakraborty and her relatives for allegedly siphoning off money. This comes after KK Singh; Sushant’s father had revealed that Rhea may have swindled an amount of 15 crore rupees from his son’s bank account. In the same FIR, it was alleged that Rs 15 crore was siphoned off from Sushant’s account in one year “to bank accounts of persons not known or connected to the late actor”. Rhea has also been accused of giving Sushant an overdose of medicine at her home and “falsely telling him that the actor was suffering from dengue”.

It is pertinent to note here that prior to Sushant Singh’s father and family taking the matter into their own hands, Rhea Chakraborty was not even being considered a prime suspect of any foul play that there might have been in relation to the actor’s death. Mumbai Police had called Chakraborty in for questioning, but no concrete action was taken until the Bihar Police jumped in and the ED registered a case in the matter of possible money laundering. Meanwhile, the Uddhav Thackeray-led government has said that evidence must be brought to their notice for action to be taken.
