Bengaluru Riots: Policemen should be given a clear order to shoot rioters because it’s the cops that rioters target the most

The rioters must fear the police

Another day, another riot and again a particular community flaming the fires of anarchy for being offended over a social media post that apparently showed their god in a bad light. According to media reports, an Islamic mob in Bengaluru hit the streets near DJ Halli and KG Halli police station areas on Tuesday evening and attacked a Congress MLA’s house after one of his relatives had allegedly made a derogatory Facebook post in response to an equally derogatory post.

As soon as the arsonist and frenzy mob reached the spot, it turned the whole situation into an episode of another communal riot. Soon, the situation took an ugly turn as two separate Muslim mobs, evoking some false sense of solidarity with their blood-thirsty brothers gathered in front of KG Halli and DJ Halli police stations. The Muslim mobs locked the gates from outside and pelted stones at the police station.

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant further confirmed that over 50 police officers including senior officers at the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) level were injured in the mobocracy of the alleged minorities of the country.

In addition to torching the cars of the police personnel, the mob had also set fire to the vehicles in front of the DJ Halli police station.

“Police jeeps, buses, and other vehicles parked in the area were torched by the mob. Stone pelting was also rampant in the area during the late hours. Two vehicles in which DCPs arrived at the site were overturned and burnt,” said Commissioner Pant.

Not the first time that Police has been the biggest casualty

This is not the first time that pre-planned attacks as such have taken place in the last 6 months. Rioters in the February-March Northeast Delhi riots had also employed the use of petrol bombs, rocks, and other weapons to create unrest in the country. The likes of Tahir Shah, Umar Khalid and Professor Apoorvananda had carefully orchestrated every single step of the riots.

The perpetrators at that time had also caused devastating damages to the police personnel and the machinery. Mobsters like Shahrukh Khan had then openly wielded guns. This fearlessness was the reason that police constable Ratan Lal had to lose his life. The incessant pelting of stones was the reason Ratan Lal succumbed to the head injuries.

But what is the reason that cops dressed in riot-gears have only a dilapidated ‘police-danda’ in their hands to wield off a violent mob, which given a chance, won’t hesitate in taking a police officer’s life.

Police dressed in riot-gears had its hands tied behind the backs in Delhi and the deadly Muslim mob took full advantage of it and an eerily similar incident happened in Bengaluru yesterday

Isn’t sending Police personnel into life and death situations without giving the liberty to defend themselves, inadvertently sending a message that we don’t care for their lives?

If they have guns and they can’t use them on frenzy mobs as such that of Bengaluru then what is the point of carrying them?

If the police officers have got guns then state governments should give them the free-hand on the rioters. Because at the end of the day it’s their families that lose the most. It happened with Ratan Lal, it even happened with IB Officer Ankit and every time the story has been same.

God forbid! if one of the 50 injured policemen succumbs to the injuries, who would answer for his life, which to begin with, could have been saved if some adequate measures were taken.

The politics of the matter aside–it is the cops that bear the most brunt in such clashes. Dying on the job is the occupational hazard for them but to not minimize that threat for them is purely suicidal from the state authorities.

The wokes and liberals of the country should wake up from their deep slumbers and demand some protection for the police because, without their safety, mobs like the one in Bengaluru will not miss a heartbeat to torch our houses and families.

And we do need police and need them badly! Just moronically imitating culturally cool/woke movements from the West and demanding defunding of the police might work in a utopian world but here, in reality, the threat is imminent.

The threat is that the minority of the country doesn’t care for law and order, MLAs, police and even army when it comes to their Gods.

Policemen should be given a clear order to shoot the rioters because it’s the cops that rioters target the most and if Police has the liberty to take desperate measures in situations like riots then only a stern message will be sent that Police lives cannot be taken away easily. A heavy price entails when a  man-in-uniform is lost!
