On India-China border standoff, most of the regional parties have extended their support to the government as well as the ruling party. Even parties like Mamata Banerjee led TMC and KCR led TRS, which do not miss a single chance to attack the government and the BJP, have supported the government on the issue of National Interest.

BSP supremo Mayawati also extended support to the ruling party and the union government on the China issue.  “Bahujan Samaj Party stands with BJP on the India-China border issue. Politics being done by BJP and Congress by levelling accusations at each other over India-China border issue is not in the interest of the nation. It is a matter of great concern,” said former UP CM Mayawati.

“China can take advantage of this situation. Other issues are being ignored and citizens of our country are losing because of such politics,” she added,

However, since Mayawati said that she stands with the government and the BJP on the border issue, Congress and Islamists have started vicious attack on her.

Priyanka Vadra, who is trying to establish herself in UP politics since the humiliating defeat of the Congress-SP alliance in 2017 assembly election, called Mayawati “undeclared spokesperson” of the ruling party. “As I had said, some opposition leaders have become undeclared spokespersons of the BJP, which is beyond my comprehension. There is no point standing with some political party at this time. Every Indian should stand with the country and the sovereignty of our nation. We need courage to fight a government that has lost parts of our territory,” she said.

Rifat Jawaid, former media professional who has worked with BBC, India Today Group, and now runs leftist portal Janata Ka Reporter, tweeted, “Dear Muslims of UP, You voted for her party in last elections. Mubarak ho!” quoting the statement by Mayawati.

Sadaf Jafar, whose twitter bio reads- An INC (Congress) footsoldier who believes in Constitution of India, tweeted, “We knew this all the way, Behen ji. Thank you for finally confessing it!!!” quoting Mayawati’s statement.

Maywati was also attacked by the people who declared themselves as Dalit Rights activist like Prashant Kanojia.

Congress, Islamists, and left-liberal ecosystem came together to launch a coordinated attack on Mayawati, after BSP supremo declared support for the government and the ruling party on China issue.

On the India-China border standoff, most of the political parties except Congress and the Communists have supported the government. Congress, Communists, and Islamists saw the national issue as an opportunity to attack Modi government. People like Ajai Shukla tried to spread the narrative that China has occupied Indian land and Modi government is unable to do anything against this.

But, they forget that questioning PM Modi on the national security issue, which was one of the major themes of his campaign, is sheer stupidity, as nobody is going to buy it. The voters see nationalism of PM Modi as unquestionable and attack on the government in such crucial times is going to hurt Congress only.

The regional parties, led by leaders mature and smarter than Rahul Gandhi, have responded to situation is better manner by standing up with the government on the issue. Most of these parties also supported the government on Balakot airstrikes, Surgical Strikes, Abrogation of Article 370 and many other nationalist issue, because their leaders know that questioning the government of the day on these issue is like digging a hole for yourself.
