Pakistani James Bond? Overconfidence of one Pakistani spy in India blew the entire espionage plan

Pakistani high commission, imran khan, Pakistan visa official

Two Pakistani High Commission officials- Abid Hussain and Mohammad Tahir have been expelled from India and sent back to Pakistan via the Attari border, after it was found that they were ISI operatives and were targeting Indian Army personnel to get information about defence establishment and movement along the bordering areas.

Both the ISI operatives were working as Visa officials in the Pakistan High Commission and their expulsion has once again exposed Pakistan’s nefarious designs. The operatives tried to play smart but ended up blowing their espionage plan.

The two operatives were on the radar of Indian intelligence agencies since January, and the poorly trained Pakistani operatives proved no match for the Indian agencies.

Indian agencies trapped Abid Hussain through a ‘decoy’ whom the ISI operative mistook for an Indian Army personnel. The Pakistani operative asked the decoy if he uses WhatsApp and on being told that it is not allowed in the Indian Army, the ISI operative suggested that the decoy should use it chori-chupke (secretly)‘.

The Pakistani agents must have thought that they had a foolproof plan- after all, using WhatsApp for intelligence operations and spy activities is the best that below-par operatives can manage. The unsuspecting operative had no idea that he was being lured into a trap by the Indian agencies.

The Military Intelligence Unit was keeping a tab on the Pakistani operatives, and after it was found that the duo was visiting Karol Bagh where they would meet a person to get information and documents about an Army establishment, a trap was laid for the ISI operatives.

Hussain and Tahir were intercepted by the Military Intelligence and a team of Special Cell near Bikanerwala Chowk on Aryasamaj Road in Delhi’s Karol Bagh. They were going around in Pakistani High Commission’s official car for spy activities.

Islamabad is known to sponsor terror anyway so it doesn’t come at much cost if the High Commission’s assets are openly used for espionage. Pakistan has no reputation to lose even if the ISI operatives are caught red-handed.

The Pakistani duo was asked to get out of the car, and Abid Hussain came up with the best guise used by a spy till date. He claimed that he is a resident of Delhi’s Geeta Colony and identified himself as Nasir Gautam.

The ISI operative also presented an Aadhaar card to substantiate his claim, but it didn’t take long for police personnel to find out that the Aadhaar card was fake.

Apparently, the ISI operatives don’t know how to spell ‘Gautam’ and it was typed as ‘Gotam’ on the fake Aadhaar card. When interrogated, the duo confessed that they were Pakistani and stationed at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

Abid Hussain revealed that he is a resident of Shekhpura in the Punjab province of Pakistan, while Tahir revealed that he is a resident of Islamabad.

Before the operatives knew, their plan had been blown up. The police have recovered documents from them that were examined, and even the Pakistani national Javed Hussain who used to drive them around has been apprehended.

Thus, the outrageously bizarre excuses and disastrously hilarious plans of the ISI operatives led to Pakistan’s entire espionage plan getting blown, in another foot in the mouth moment for Islamabad.
