The crudest form of Chinese barbarity lay bare for the world to witness on Monday night, as the People’s Liberation Army of China ambushed an Indian patrol party at PP14 of the Galwan river valley, quite literally attacking the Indian commanding officer from the back, which led to violent clashes that lasted for hours, resulting in the martyrdom of 20 Indian soldiers. 30 Chinese soldiers have been killed, meanwhile, even though the toll is said to be much higher across enemy lines.

The world community, meanwhile, is standing with India. The only support which China seems to be garnering is that of Pakistanis and some of its own citizens, who by the way are victims of state controlled media and narratives. The free world, however, has extended its support to India, and is mincing no words to call out Chinese animalism at the Line of Actual Control. As a matter of fact, #StandWithIndia has become a huge trend, and is flooded with international support for India.

The biggest testimony of the world community standing with India came yesterday from Taiwan, where a media outlet called Taiwan News published a story titled, “Photo of the Day: India’s Rama takes on China’s Dragon.” In the said story, China used a picture of Bhagwan Ram aiming his arrows at a dragon, in a clear indication of the prevailing geopolitical situation in South Asia.

Users on Twitter, meanwhile, have extended their support to India, while calling out China for its misadventures along the Line of Actual Control. Many users were particularly impressed by PM Modi’s stern warning to China, in which he said that although India had no intention to provoke tensions, it would not back down, and would give a jaw breaking response to the aggressor. He further added that the sacrifice of our soldiers on Monday night at Galwan would not go in vain.

Alice G Wells, American Diplomat and former principal deputy assistant secretary (PDAS), said on June 13, “External rebalancing is critical. At the end of the day, it will be the US that stands with India in pushing back against constant Chinese probing of Indian sovereignty.”

A student activist from Hong Kong, whose freedoms are now being trampled upon by the Chinese Communist Party, had this to say:

Meanwhile, after news broke of the Galwan valley clash, Australian envoy Barry O’Farrell said that Beijing is not as committed as Australia and India to the established body of rules. He was speaking in the context of China trying to alter the status quo in South China Sea, although the statement is very much relevant in the context of Ladakh too.

At a time when international public opinion is weighed heavily against China for it gifting the world with the CoVID-19 pandemic, for the paper dragon to escalate tensions with India will only serve as a big nail to the CCP’s own coffin. China must realize that it is all by its own this time, and even its all-weather ally, Pakistan would not dare undertake a conflict with India. While India has the bulk of international support, what China has is the delusion of it being the unchallengeable bully in Asia.
