China occupies Rui village in Nepal but Oli govt is criminally quiet, instead PM Oli is busy claiming Indian land

As the Nepal government gets busy with territorial expansion on the Indian side while claiming Indian territory as its own and adding Indian areas to its map in a recent amendment, the PM KP Sharma Oli led the Communist government is criminally quiet about the Rui village, which is occupied by China. In fact, the Chinese government has removed signboards in the Nepali language to legalize the occupation, although, it is still shown in Nepal’s map.

Rui Gaun of Gorkha, which consists of 72 households, was part of Nepal. The Land Revenue Office of Gorkha still has the record of the revenues collected from Rui village.

“The details of the revenues paid by the inhabitants of Rui Bhot areas is still safe in the Land Revenue Office, in the file no. 1,” an assistant staff at the Land Revenue Office Gorkha said, “The record section of the office has the records of the revenues submitted by the people from Athara Saya Khola to Rui Bhot,” as per a report by Annapurna Post, premier Nepalese daily.

According to Historian Ramesh Dhungel, Rui and Teigha villages were in the Northern part of the Gorkha district. “Rui Gaun is part of Nepal,” Dhungel said, adding, “Neither Nepal lost it in war nor it was subject to any special agreement or contract to let it belong to Tibet; Nepal lost both Rui and Tegha villages due to the negligence at the time of fixing pillars,” AP says.

PM Oli led Communist government in Nepal is unable to lay claim over the Rui village illegally occupied by China and added into the Tibet region, but, they are now claiming new areas of India as their own.

As India’s response to the whole Nepal matter remains calm and calculated, the territorial ambitions of Kathmandu are growing every day. After laying claims over strategically import areas such as Lipulekh, Kalapani, and Limpiyadhura, the Nepal government stopped the Bihar government from carrying out embankment-related work in East Champaran district.

Nepal is destroying relations with India beyond the point of repair, all at the behest of China. But, no efforts are being made by the Oli government to claim a village that has been historically under the Nepalese territory and resided by 72 Gorkha families.

As the Nepali government becomes a puppet of the Communist Party of China, it seems that either Kathmandu is unaware of Beijing’s expansionist ambition, or PM Oli is willing to surrender the sovereignty of Nepal to China.

In the last few years, especially after Xi Jinping came to power, China has repeatedly tried to expand its boundaries, despite being the fourth largest country in the world by area.

Nepal, where the Oli led United Communist Front came to power by defeating the Nepali Congress in 2015, is practically being ruled by the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu. On the directions of Beijing, the Nepal government passed the new map through both houses of parliament. The government also brought many fundamental changes in its laws to slow down the process of providing citizenship to Indians.

Nepal government wants to end the “Roti Beti ka Rista” between the two Hindu majority countries for its friendship with Beijing. Nepal Security forces killed one person and injured two others of a Bihar family who were going to see daughter-in-law in the neighboring country.

Needless to say, the KP Sharma Oli government is dancing to the tunes of its master, the Chinese President Xi Jinping, as the latter saved Oli’s government from a certain fall earlier this year and has inundated the Himalayan kingdom with billions in Chinese investment.

But, China is no one’s friend and it backstabs whichever country trusts them, as is visible in the examples of Sri Lanka and the Philippines. However, it is greatly concerning that Nepal government chooses to cede territory to China without a hue and cry.
