What happened on the fateful night of June 15 between the ferocious Indian Army and the namby-pamby PLA troops has shocked the Chinese state to its wits. They were given a bloody nose for their misadventures in the Galwan valley region, although the message by India would send shockwaves right up to Beijing. Now, China has decided to rope in MMA fighters in order to train its troops in Ladakh, and perhaps face India in case of any eventuality. The same was reported first by Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.
The ‘Mixed martial arts’ fighting is a full-blown contact-combat sport, which includes ground fighting, striking and grappling. MMA, in recent times, has gained a lot of traction around the world as a fighting sport which makes use of a combination of martial art techniques. Essentially, China has outsourced its fighting to MMA players, since their own army is clearly incapable of facing the wrath of India. The 20 MMA fighters belonged to the Enbo Fight Club in Sichuan province in the country’s southwest and would form the Plateau Resistance Tibetan Mastiffs to be based in Lhasa, the capital of China Occupied Tibet. The 20 fighters would fall under PLA’s Western Theatre Command.
Other militia recruits included civilian personnel specialising in communications technology, mountaineering and mining, the official military newspaper, PLA Daily reported.
Indian Army cross-border action on June 15 has forced China to perhaps undertake structural reforms for its troops, especially those which face India. On June 15, after their CO was killed by the PLA, 16 Bihar soldiers and Ghatak platoon troops from 16 Bihar and 3 Punjab regiments are said to have “unleashed a reign of terror, unheard in modern military history”, a Deccan Chronicle report said. The same report also explained how Indian army troops completely obliterated their enemy using primitive fighting techniques and snapped the necks while also smashing their faces. The spiked nail bats and iron rods being used by the Chinese PLA were also snatched by overpowering Indian soldiers who used the weapons against the PLA itself. It was a furious counteraction by the Indian Army, and Chinese troops were reportedly fleeing the combat sight on seeing the wrath on the other side.
“Some had their necks dangling from their bodies, while those whose faces were smashed with stones were beyond recognition,” the same report quoted sources as saying. 20 Indian soldiers were martyred in the clash whereas China has refused to reveal its numbers even as American intelligence pegged the number at 35 and Indian intercepts pegged it above 40. When it comes to close-contact combat, and getting one’s feet dirty in the mud, there is no beating the Indians. The 15 June clashes stand as a testimony to the same.
As reported by TFI earlier, the People’s Liberation Army of China is comprised of wimps, sissies and ‘little emperors’. There is little to no fighting spirit which prevails among the PLA ranks, and almost the entirety of the present Chinese force hasn’t tasted combat. The last time PLA actually fought, was in 1979, when the Vietnamese forces pulled China’s pants down.

Moreover, the one-child policy of China has given rise to non-combatants in the PLA, who are serving in the force only for the sake of it and have no actual interest in fighting for their country. The said policy has given rise to a pampered bunch of children who have enrolled in the Chinese forces, and who back home, are treated like royalty. Unlike the Indian Army, the PLA is not a battle-hardened force, and lacks sound decision-making capabilities. Although China touts its forces as ‘technologically advanced’, many strategists fear that the troops are not fully aware of how the bulk of their infrastructure is to be brought to use.
The enrolment of MMA fighters in the PLA ranks proves what we have always been saying. The PLA is not lethal, and the 20 MMA fighters have been roped in to train Chinese soldiers to face India. While China is forced to ‘train’ its soldiers even post-enrolment, furious and lethal combat, using a minimalistic-weapons approach, comes almost naturally to Indian soldiers. Now that the no-gun policy has rightfully been thrown into the trash can, China can expect an unprecedented response for any of its attempted misadventures.
