India’s Wuhan virus cases are doubling in 4.1 days after a sudden spurt following Tablighi Jamaat Markaz fiasco, which otherwise would have been 7.4 days. The Jamaat and its wretched members’ behavior have been deplorable amidst the whole crisis. The Jamaati’s have been running around the country amuck—infecting those in contact, creating nuisance in hospitals with their sexual predatory behavior and inciting violence against the authorities. Now in a shocking yet not improbable incident, eight people of the Tablighi Jamaat cult were caught at the Delhi IGI Airport on Sunday trying to flee to Malaysia via Malindo Air relief flight.

Sources say these 8 people were hiding in different parts of Delhi and gathered at the airport on Sunday to flee the country. All the potential infectors were handed to the CISF personnel at the airport and further process is underway to hand them to the Delhi Police. They have to stay in quarantine as mandated by the government but as soon as the perpetrators get well, a formal criminal case should be filed against these vile Jamaati’s for endangering the lives of those around and hiding and lying to the authorities.

Many foreign nationals who attended the religious gathering, among other Indians, have tested positive for COVID-19 and nearly 22,000 Tablighi Jamaat members and their contacts have been quarantined across the country so far. India’s death toll from the COVID-19 outbreak surged past 100 with 27 patients succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours. The total count has also gone past 4000 and the major contributor to it has been the fateful Markaz gathering.

The top 10 states showing a sudden surge in cases have reported Tablighi Jamaat linkages. Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Assam—all have seen a surge in the Wuhan virus cases since March 31 courtesy the Jamaat linkages. India was well on its way of flattening the curve when the ominous cult gathering took place, since then the battle has gone intense and way tougher for the central and state governments. The non-cooperation of the Jamaat is not making things any easier.

In a related report, four Americans, nine British and six Chinese nationals were among the 960 foreign Tablighi Jamaat activists who were blacklisted and their tourist visas canceled by the Union Home Ministry, as a precautionary measure. As many as 77 Kyrgyzstan, 75 Malaysian, 65 Thai, 12 Vietnamese, 9 Saudi, and three French nationals were also among those Tablighi Jamaat activists who were blacklisted and their visas canceled, a government official said.

Earlier, the Home Ministry had blacklisted 800 Indonesian Islamic preachers from the same Tablighi Jamaat on 31 March.

Clearly, the phrase Religion is opium for the masses sits tight with Tablighi Jamaat and its sordid members who by all means have wreaked havoc upon the country. While the government and the entire 1.3 billion population is fighting the pandemic together as we saw yesterday when people observed the Prime Minister’s rallying call of 9baje9minute with full aplomb, the Tablighi Jamaat is trying real hard to derail the collective efforts with its foolhardiness.
