Kuwait criticized India. Jaishankar picked up the phone. Kuwait started dancing to India’s tunes

On 26th April, the Council of Ministers of the State of Kuwait tweeted a statement by its cabinet condemning the Indian government on the alleged atrocities against the Muslims. However, when the distasteful tweet came into light, the IndianForeign Ministry immediately got involved and took over the matter and within 24 hours the Kuwait government was forced to issue a statement that it valued its friendly relations with India and it does not support any interference in the internal affairs of India. The total 360 degrees spin by the Kuwait government was a sensible move as the middle-eastern country cannot afford to have a scorned India on its tail.

Abdullah al-Shoreka, a minister in Kuwait’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, had tweeted on Sunday, “The Council of Ministers of the State of Kuwait condemns the ethnic attacks against Muslims in India”. He had tweeted a letter in Arabic by the Kuwaiti cabinet as well. He had also used the hashtags “#Islamophobia_In_India” and “#ArabsExposingRSS” in his tweet.

After India rapped the Kuwaiti authorities, the Union Ministry of External Affairs’ official spokesperson Anurag Srivastava informed that Kuwait’s envoy to India Jassem Al-Najem had issued a statement that toed India’s line. “Kuwait and India share many principles in their foreign policies, like respecting U.N. Charter, non-interference in other countries’ affairs and respecting sovereignty of nations,” the official news agency of Kuwait said, quoting Jassem Al-Najem.

“The Government of Kuwait has assured us that they are deeply committed to friendly relations with India. They also do not support any interference in the internal affairs of India,” the MEA spokesperson confirmed the news.

The Kuwaiti twitter meltdown comes at the heel of the recent fake Arab twitter episode were Pakistani’s were masquerading as Arabs to defame India. Numerous Pakistani and anti-India twitter users had changed their handles to sound more Arabic and started tweeting against India ‘condemning’ the ‘hate’ against Muslims.

Additionally, the entire cabal of Islamists had gone bonkers in their sheer desperation to endanger the lives of Indians abroad, the usual and obvious targets being Hindus, aka, kaafirs.

The cyber-warfare against Pakistan was initiated with the sole aim to spoil relations between India and Arab countries.

One such Pakistani account had tweeted on Twitter against the alleged atrocities on Muslims by creating a fake account of Omani princess, after which the real princess of Oman had to come forward and issue a statement stating she had not tweeted any such frivolous statement.

Pakistan is trying its best to create a rift between India and the Arabian world. However, India’s Foreign Ministry has been more than up to the task so far and has counter-attacked every possible abhorrent move of Pakistan with utmost precision. 

While the world fights a deadly pandemic, Pakistan is still fixated on India and is engaging in childlike antics of making fake twitter accounts. Instead, it should focus on getting its house in order.

With Kuwait bending the knee within 24 hours, India’s foreign ministry should be complimented for its swift yet stern diplomacy. A clear message has been delivered that no country can mingle with India’s internal affairs.
