Impressed with the welfare work undertaken by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its affiliates, a Muslim woman from Jammu and Kashmir has donated her savings of Rs 5 lakh, meant for the Hajj pilgrimage, to a sister organization of RSS named ‘Sewa Bharati’. Since the lockdown was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, around 70,000 daily shakhas (basic unit) of the organization and over three dozen of its affiliates have been asked to prioritize for the fight against the virus.

Khalida Begum, 87, Mother of Adviser Farooq Khan (Adviser to Jammu & Kashmir UT Lt. Governor) donated Rs 5 lakh meant for Hajj pilgrimage. She was forced to defer her plans for the hajj to due to the country-wide lockdown.

“Khalida Begum ji was impressed with the welfare work done by the Sewa Bharati in Jammu and Kashmir during the tough time the country is passing through due to sudden outbreak of Covid-19 and decided to donate Rs 5 lakh to the organization,” Arun Anand, head of RSS media wing Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra (IVSK), said.

In times of adversity the RSS has time and again stepped in to help local communities and administration to put up a strong fight against the deadly Wuhan virus pandemic. A video had surfaced a week back on social media platforms which showed the RSS workers pitching in to clean the hospital premises and aid the authorities.

RSS is often the target of seculars, liberal and international media who routinely dub it as a militant organization which is a threat to the nation’s security. But in these unprecedented times, RSS is one of the few organizations that has helmed the responsibility of catering to the vulnerable and needy.

In Odisha and Karnataka, RSS Swayamsevaks distributed masks and conducted awareness drives. In Madhya Pradesh, the diligent Swayamsevaks sanitized an entire village while in Kerala, the Sangh and Seva Bharti volunteers have been assisting police and fire services in cleaning and disinfection works.

The Sangh-affiliate’s volunteers were seen on Saturday managing crowd and providing food to the migrant workers at the Anand Vihar bus terminal in Delhi. Now RSS has set up a kitchen service at Delhi’s Krishna Nagar to distribute food at Anand Vihar Bus Terminal.

Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat also iterated PM Modi’s statement and said that it is time to enforce social distancing as much as possible to reduce to spread of Covid-19 and urged members of the organization to help implement the national lockdown ordered by the government.

Meanwhile, RSS is busy helping the nation to seer through the tough times, news reports have emerged that the Nizamuddin area of Delhi might be the first place of community transmission of the deadly Wuhan virus in the country. The entire area around Markaz Masjid located roughly 100 meters from the Nizamuddin dargah has been cordoned off. Even after repeated announcements and requests by the government, the religious congregations of Muslims took place there. The mosque is Tablighi Jamat’s headquarters, the same Muslim outfit that has wreaked doom upon the entire south-east Asia.

The contrast study of two organizations viz. RSS and Tablighi Jamaat is an intriguing read. One has given its entire personnel and resources to curb the menace of Wuhan Virus whilst the other has pushed the country on the verge of an outbreak. The reader can decipher which organization is a threat to the country.

Nonetheless, after the dust settles, RSS would again become the punching bag of liberals and seculars. It would be demonized whereas Tablighi Jamaat would go unscathed, unreported and unmentioned.
