Namaste Trump marked a historic juncture in Indo-US relations but western media blacked it out

Anti-Trump, anti-Modi media portals unite!

trump, modi,

The Namaste Trump rally turned out to be a huge success with unprecedented scenes at Motera Stadium, Ahmedabad as the US President Trump addressed a massive crowd of over 125,000 people. The rally was historic from the fact that it was Trump’s first visit to the country. Both the leaders share great bonhomie and it was on full display. Trump was astounded by the hospitality of PM Modi and after returning to USA said in a rally in South Carolina that it was hard to be enthused by any other crowd after witnessing the huge one at the Motera stadium.

Trump was stoked, the Republican Party and supporters were stoked, but liberal media had severe heartburn and therefore blacked out Namaste Trump and his full diplomatic visit in its entirety. The Western media and in specific the American media deleted the reality of Trump’s visit and what all transpired here and instead focused on trivial reporting and the full-time hobby they pursue of peddling lies. The leftist media of west was seemingly busy in brandishing the Delhi riots as anti-Muslim “pogrom” of PM Modi.

CNN or as Trump so politely calls “fake News” channel was busy in its Pulitzer winning coverage which truth be told is indeed capable of winning one in the investigative reporting category. The network focused over the food options in India. The network blinded by its hatred over Trump once hyperventilated over the fact that Trump was being served an extra scoop of ice cream has now focused on how Trump ‘never eats vegetable’. Recently, CNN published an article – “’I have never seen him eat a vegetable:’ Trump braces for a beef-free menu in India” – co-written by Kaitlan Collins, Kevin Liptak and Vivian Salama (read it again, three writers!).

New York Times mentioned no finer details of the meet either and instead like a broken record went on with its age-old insipid rhetoric of “Modi-The ultimate villain”. “Making no mention of a growing backlash against what critics call Modi’s anti-Muslim Hindu nationalism, Trump praised India for its unity and echoed the Indian leader’s stump speeches by noting anti-poverty efforts that have provided more electricity, cooking gas and toilets to rural Indians.” Reported the NYT.

The Guardian was particularly hurt by the success of the trip and vented out “The president’s speech served only to further the sense this was simply an opportunity for both leaders to pat each other on the back.”

It further tried to demonize PM Modi by saying, “Such optics are particularly vital for Modi, who has been facing a sustained backlash and period of protest in India for the past three months after his Hindu-nationalist BJP government passed a controversial citizenship law.”

The fact is left-leaning forces worldwide have never given up their attempts of tainting PM Modi and the ruling party’s image to that of an anti-Muslim jibe. So when Trump who has time and again called out “radical Islamist Terrorism” as the root cause of terrorism across the world, shares the dais with India’s Prime Minister who himself is critical and wary of terrorism, the liberal media cannot handle this and instead chooses to omit the whole trip altogether.

The support of western media has bolstered the efforts of Indian left intellectuals, ill-informed activists and certain factions of opposition parties who seem to have a single point agenda of opposing PM Modi. The radical faction of Islam has joined hands with them too. They peddle lies on the act and have managed to create an anticipatory fear among the Muslims – when the facts are pointing against the narrative. When their half-baked knowledge of CAA was debunked, they resorted to a narrative on CAA in combination with NRC to wreak havoc on Muslims, when the draft for NRC isn’t out yet. These can just be viewed as efforts to incite the Indian Muslims and urging them to come out on roads to fight for their rights and survival.

A correspondent of The Pioneer tweeted how International media tries to peddle lies by offering a hefty amount for each article. And we wondered how the Rana’s, Faye’s and Barkha’s of the countries ran their households.

After the bilateral talks ended on Tuesday last week, the PM said both the countries will begin negotiations for a big trade deal soon. Though no trade deal could be finalized this time, India has only made positive strides and the grandeur reception given to Trump must have delivered the message that Trump and the USA are on top of the priority list for India. Trump was certainly overwhelmed by the hospitality given his rave and positive comments about the Prime Minister. “We had a great time. We had great meetings… This is a tremendous country. I think they like us more than they ever liked us. There is a great relationship between the Prime Minister and myself.” Trump said at the presser referring to his chemistry with PM Modi.

India’s PM was at his diplomatic best in giving Trump and his family the astute attention they deserved which showed unprecedented sealing of warm ties. Modi hit all the right chords with his friend and American president and Trump returned content, and indications are that a big trade deal is in the offing. Something which the western media deliberately tried to hid but in doing so exposed themselves, yet again.
