The Delhi riots have unmasked the true face of the International media with its selective reportage and condemnation of violence as they strive to add substance to the hollow claims of ‘Hindu Terror’. Now, a Wikipedia article on the North East Delhi riots have been slammed by Indians as it seems that the article has emerged from the playbook of the communists.
In the biased Wikipedia entry on the North East Delhi riots, Wikipedia refuses to include violence by radical Islamists. Looking at the tags of the article, one can clearly see the inherent bias. As if copying from the opposition’s playbook they have labelled the violence as ‘pogrom’ which has been caused by ‘religious nationalism’ and ‘Islamophobia’. In what kind of ‘pogrom’ do the radical Islamists brutally murder Intelligence Bureau Officer Ankit Sharma?
The Wikipedia article titled North East Delhi riots was created on Tuesday by a senior Wikipedia editor that goes by the username DBigXray. Right from the beginning itself, the blame of the riots have been pinned on Kapil Mishra as the article insinuated that due to Mishra’s alleged hate speech, the riots broke out meanwhile completely ignoring the infamous ’15 crore vs 100 crore’ comment of Waris Pathan. While Mishra had threatened to hit the streets if after 3 days the roads blocked by the Shaheen Bagh protesters didn’t open up, there was no explicit threat of violence in his speech. Freelance protesters and serial propagandists like Swara Bhasker and RJ Sayema have called the people of Delhi to hit the streets on Twitter on multiple occasions. What’s worse is the fact that when one user requested the Wikipedia moderator to include Waris Pathan’s provocative comments, the moderator refused citing ‘lack of reliable sources’, completely ignoring the fact that Pathan’s remarks have made the headlines for the past few days.

It is Wikipedia’s policy that no matter what, every single claim in any Wikipedia article must be verified by multiple sources. In this article, Wikipedia broke its own policy when it made the claim of ‘Several journalists reporting on the riots stated that they had been threatened by pro-CAA mobs’. Who are exactly are the several journalists is of course not revealed. Wikipedia has dedicated an entire sub-topic of ‘Incitement of Violence’ on Kapil Mishra, it has completely omitted the role of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan as the blame of the riots have been squarely been placed on Mishra’s ‘provocative’ speech on multiple occasions in the article. The moderator has even refused to entertain any mentions of the role of Amanatullah Khan.
According to OpIndia, when several editors on Wikipedia had asked to remove the Kapil Mishra’s photo from the article as he is not directly involved in the riots, and not proven guilty of any violence, the senior editors overruled them. The senior editors, who have more rights than normal editors like preventing normal users from making edits in specific articles, overruled them, saying that he is the central figure in the riots. Being regular active users, senior users also develop personal coordination with Wikipedia administrators, who can block users from making edits in the website.
The article on North East Delhi riots is nothing but a propaganda article as the article has sought to whitewash the crimes committed by the Muslims. Taking a cue from Ravish Kumar, the article whitewashed the crime of Shahrukh. Mohammad Shahrukh, an anti-CAA protester, on 24th February brandished a pistol and fired 8 shots on the pro-CAA protesters, has been merely mentioned as a shooter and the article does not even mention that he is from anti-CAA mob. When other users wanted to include this information in the Wikipedia article, their requests were overruled by the moderator.
Reading the day-by-day account of the article, one can be forgiven for thinking that the Hindus channelised their inner Mughals to unleash an unprecedented level of barbarity. To the best of my knowledge, I have never seen whitewashing of crimes committed by minorities anywhere. On 25th February, a Muslim mob threw acid on the paramilitary persons who were there on the ground to ensure peace, the article mentions the incident as ‘acid was thrown by protesters on the paramilitary personnel who were deployed in the area to maintain law and order.’ Look how cleverly Wikipedia didn’t mention the religion of the mob and their affiliation to the anti-CAA protests.
The details of the gruesome murder of Ankit Sharma has shaken the conscience of every Indian. Wikipedia merely mentions the article as ‘The dead body of Ankit Sharma, a trainee driver in the Intelligence Bureau at Chanakyapuri, was found in a drain in Jafrabad, a day after he went missing. The circumstances leading to his death are under investigation. According to the postmortem report, he was repeatedly stabbed, leading to his death.[70] A First information report (FIR) was registered against Nehru Vihar’s ward number 59 councillor Tahir Hussain for murder.’ No details of the murder of Hussain’s affiliation to the Aam Aadmi Party have been mentioned by Wikipedia.
While Wikipedia prides itself on being an open-source platform which can be edited by anybody, the article on North East Delhi riots has been made semi-protected, which means only confirmed registered users can make edits to it. As a result, ordinary users are having to request user DBigXray for making changes, and user DBigXray, who has special privileges as a Master Editor III, decides which contents are included and which are not in the page.
This case further signifies how the leftists have infiltrated almost every notable institution to run their propaganda. This comes at a time when billionaire George Soros has publicly pledged $1 billion to take on nationalistic leaders like Modi and Trump. The fight for justice has only started and the Indian right-wing has a long way to go.
