China, which put the humanity under a risk like never before, is now selling the world tools to fight from the disease. The world needs to face masks and ventilators, and Chinese factories are working 24*7 to produce these products in order to match the demand with supply created by the Wuhan virus.
As the countries around the world went under the lockdown and more than half of humanity is closed behind the doors, China has opened factories across the country. Even Wuhan, the main epicentre and place of origin of the Coronavirus outbreak, is expected to open fully in the next few weeks.
China is working on overdrive to profit from the crisis to the point that it is exporting substandard medical equipment to the Wuhan virus affected world. We have heard many stories about entrepreneurs and companies who benefit from the chaos in the world, but the precedent of countries doing the same are very rare. But China has always been different and defied the global norms, and doing the same in the times of Corona crisis. The country is earning billions of dollars by selling masks and ventilators when the world is fighting from a virus that originated in China, and became a pandemic due to China’s attempt to suppress the information about the disease.
As per a report by Bloomberg, the companies in China are working in three shifts in order to match demand. “There’s literally no country in the world that doesn’t want to buy a ventilator from China right now,” said Li Kai, director of Beijing Aeonmed, “We have tens of thousands of orders waiting. The issue is how fast we can make them.”
Moreover, even in times of crisis, the country is selling typical Chinese products with defects. As per a report by Taiwan news, out of the 1.5 lakh test kits China sold to Czech Republic, 80 per cent were reported to be faulty. Like any typical Chinese product, the Chinese kits have failed to give the right results, despite the fact that China has taken millions of dollars the kits.
“We tested those who searched for a sampling point. Fortunately, we were so farsighted that samples were immediately compared with traditional tests, and that just proved the error rate of the [Chinese rapid] tests,” said Svrcinova, a Chinese official.
The Czech Republic received 150,000 coronavirus test kits from China. About 80% of the tests give false results.

In order to make maximum money out of the crisis, the Chinese government pushed automobile, energy companies in the production masks, reported the Wall Street Journal. As the numbers of cases are coming down in China- at least as per Chinese media reports- the country is slowly opening up all the cities and provinces. The Communist government has directed the companies to produce masks with ‘wartime efforts’ to fill in the global demand, and revive the economy through production.
As the world is fighting the Coronavirus, China is not just profiteering from crisis but also trying to make geopolitical gains. It has been reported that China has increased activity in the South China Sea and released underwater drones in the Indian Ocean. Indian forces have been put on high alert after the dragon deployed underwater drones.
The paramount leader of China, Xi Jinping, wants global hegemony at any cost. Xi Jinping is the most powerful leader in China after Mai Zedong, and if one looks back at history books, Zedong killed millions of Chinese in order to establish his supremacy over the country.
But today’s China is very different. It is no longer an unstable country but a global superpower. Xi Jinping has aspirations are to make China a global hegemon and this is very much evident not only his speeches in support of globalization, but also the policies. Jinping does not care for the life of a few thousands of Chinese and millions of people around the world if he could establish Chinese supremacy through it. And today China is doing exactly that: trying to make geopolitical gains in the wake of Corona crisis.
