With Hawa in BJP’s favour in Delhi election, the EVM tampering gang is out once again

The intensely contested Delhi Assembly polls are being conducted today, and the liberal gang has once again fallen back upon its go to argument of blaming the Electronic Voter Machine (EVM) tampering. It seems as if the anti Modi gang has realised that the AAP is set for a major rout in Delhi, and has therefore decided to fall back upon the fake claims of EVM tapering.

Many left liberals have taken to Twitter casting aspersions upon the Electronic Voter Machines (EVMs). In fact, Supreme Court advocate and former Prashant Bhushan AAP leader had cast aspersions on the EVMs on February 6 itself. He had tweeted, “Why does Shah say that Delhi election results will shock everyone? It means he knows that everyone expects AAP to win and BJP to lose. Is he planning to pull a rabbit out of the hat by EVM tampering? Or is there some more sinister plan afoot?”

Controversial activist, Kavita Krishnan too seems to have realised that the BJP is set for a major breakthrough in the National Capital. She tweeted, “So @AmitShah says #DelhiElections2020 results will “shock” ppl. Why? If BJP is confident everyone is supporting them, voting for them, then the results should shock no one, no? They will only shock ppl, if the latter have NOT voted BJP. So is Shah hinting at EVM manipulation?”

Even former Union Home Minister, P. Chidambaram joined those trying to give a spin to the sitting Union Home Minister, Amit Shah’s remarks. He tweeted, “What is the meaning of the Home Minister’s statement that the result of the Delhi elections will shock the nation.” He added, “The CEO of Delhi must assure the people that he will not allow the integrity of the electoral process to be compromised.”

Anti-BJP, leftist portal The Quint which is infamous for having questioned the veracity of EVMs in the past, too has published a story which desperately tries to cast a shadow of doubt over the role of the Election Commission about the Lok Sabha polls conducted last year.

The Quint, which frequently publishes reports of make-believe claims of EVM malfunctioning, manipulation and glitches, also turned active a day prior to the February 8 elections. It claimed that the Election Commission has disposed of the printed VVPAT slips even though it is obligated to retain such VVPAT slips for one year.

The EVM tampering gang is out making wild allegations against the Election Commission and suggesting that the BJP is manipulating the Delhi Assembly polls. They are deliberately twisting Shah’s remarks to imply that Delhi Elections are rigged.

Such bizarre allegations become that much more significant because the main contest in Delhi is between AAP and the BJP. Kejriwal, AAP supremo and Delhi CM is infamous for shifting the blame onto Election Commission and EVM tampering whenever he loses an election. In fact, it is Kejriwal who heralded this obnoxious pattern of questioning the EVMs and raising doubts about the genuineness of the electoral practices of World’s largest democracy. Therefore, the allegations of EVM tampering suggest that BJP might just be heading towards a landslide victory in Delhi.
