‘Just 15 crore of us are heavy on 100 crore of them,’ AIMIM leader Waris Pathan proves anti-CAA protests are just a show of Muslim ‘power’

The grand scheme is clear

AIMIM

Anti-CAA protests have yet again come under the scanner for Hinduphobic remarks, sheer hate-mongering even as Waris Pathan, former Byculla MLA and AIMIM leader has made a rather controversial statement trying to boast of the anti-CAA protests as a show of brute Muslim power.

In a speech laced with toxicity and rabid Islamism, Pathan said,  “They tell us that we have kept our women in the forefront. I want to tell these people, only the lionesses have come out and you are already sweating. You can understand what would happen if all of us come together. We are just 15 crore but can be a bigger force than the 100 crore majority population.”

Pathan made these pernicious remarks in the presence of AIMIM supremo, Asaduddin Owaisi. Even at Owaisi’s anti-CAA rally in Bengaluru- “Save Constitution”, anti-India remarks were made in the garb of protesting against the CAA.

A woman, who has been identified as Amulya, chanted “Pakistan Zindabad (Long Live Pakistan) slogan at his rally. She kept changing repeatedly until the police sprung into action and removed her from the dais.

The anti-India sentiment and Hinduphobia that have come to the fore yet again, are largely in line with the larger narrative of the anti-CAA protests, which has time and again manifested anti-Hindu vitriol and anti-national sentiments.

It is the same mentality that led to widespread anti-CAA violence across the country. The clarion calls given by Islamist, hardliner organisations were based on the same agenda, which the likes of Waris Pathan are now propagating.

From Shaheen Bagh protesters to Sharjeel Imam, Waris Pathan to Akbaruddin Owaisi and Mohammad Salman, the entire anti-CAA machinery has continuously spewed venom and hate. What binds this process together is the common thread of showing the strength of the Muslims.

Take, for instance, Akbaruddin Owaisi who got carried away during one of his speeches and said, “There is no need to be afraid. Today, they are asking what does a Muslim have? I have this to say — you want to check my papers. For 800 years, I have ruled this country. This country belonged to me, belongs to me and will continue to be mine. My forefathers gave this country Charminar, Jama Masjid, Mecca Masjid, Qutub Minar. The Red Fort, on which the prime minister of this country hoists the tricolour, was also given to you by my forefathers. Do you want papers? Look, the Charminar is the biggest proof that my forefathers have made it (sic).”

The only purpose of flaunting the make-believe 800 Islamic rule in India was to stir up the sentiment of boasting the brute Muslim strength.

At Shaheen Bagh, there are videos of kids- girls of an impressionable age, chanting vulgar slogans that reek of Islamist supremacy. This shows the level of indoctrination that goes behind such protests.

Similarly, this Shaheen Bagh poster desecrating the Hindu Swastika symbol again exposes a clear, toxic anti-Hindu agenda behind the protests.

Even Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) chief, Waris Pathan had made similar remarks that reeked of a tendency to instigate aggressive Islamism. He had said“There is no space for negotiations in this fight. Neither will CAA remain nor this government. The Muslim community is ready and Muslim youngsters are also ready. There will be no ifs and buts. This is not Babri Masjid where we will follow the court’s decision. We have decided, now India has to decide.”

What can be the objective behind inciting people to defy Court’s verdict, if not using the anti-CAA protests for the show of raw Muslim strength?

Pathan’s remarks are bound to cause outrage, but mobilising popular opinion against the CAA on the basis of fake news and rumours was the modus operandi of the Islamists from the word go.

Over the past two months or so, such Islamists and rabid Hindu haters have been instigating an entire community on a war footing. Emotive issues like Babri Masjid, Triple Talaq, etc. are being brought up constantly even though they bear no real relevance to the CAA.

This is also the reason why slogans like ‘Hinduon se Azadi’, ‘kafiron se Azadi’, ‘I am Babari’ have been a dominant feature of the anti CAA protests since December last year.

The writing is on the wall. Waris Pathan and the like-minded Islamists who are in charge of the anti-CAA protests are trying to slip the nation into anarchy, mobilise fundamentalist Islamic sentiment and then show off their brute strength.
