“Har roz koi ghanti bajake chala jaata hai”, Family staying in supposed ‘Mohalla clinic’ expose Kejriwal’s lies

Mohalla clinic, AAP

The Mohalla clinic, supposedly to be the Aam Aadmi Party’s shining achievement over which they would fight the Delhi elections. However, what was supposed to be a huge asset for the AAP and emerge as the proof of the pudding for the AAP government’s development schemes, has rapidly turned out to become a huge liability as it becomes increasingly clear that the Kejriwal government has failed to deliver on its major promise.

Delhi CM year after year promised 1,000 Mohalla clinics and after 5 years of rule, only 191 clinics have been delivered to the people of Delhi. The initial deadline set by the AAP government for the Mohalla clinics was December 2016 post which multiple deadlines have passed and only 191 clinics delivered. It is important to note that the AAP government has been praised for improving Delhi’s healthcare which is clearly not the case. Additionally, Arvind Kejriwal even refused to implement Centre’s Ayushman Bharat healthcare scheme which has benefited millions of people and played a key role in helping Narendra Modi win a second term.

If the Mohalla clinics indeed provided the best health care in Delhi as claimed by the AAP, then why did Kejriwal and Sisodia prefer private hospitals for their treatment? Kejriwal and his ministers have spent up to Rs. 50 Lakhs in private hospitals outside Delhi. According to an RTI document, Kejriwal and his ministers use private hospitals for treatment which only exposes their hypocrisy.

It is understandable why the top AAP leadership refuses to use Mohalla clinics for their personal treatment. As exposed by MP Meenakshi Lekhi, the state of the Mohalla clinics is shambolic, to say the least. Lekhi took to Twitter to claim that 91 primary health centres, 40 maternity centres and operation theatres have shut down. Lekhi further exposed how the AAP government had propped up fake Mohalla clinics.

When Lekhi went to visit one Mohalla clinic as mentioned on the AAP website, it turned out that the particular clinic never existed and was someone’s private home.

Kejriwal in 2019 famously claimed that he will open one Mohalla clinic every kilometre and hence will open 1000 Mohalla clinics so that no one would have to ever travel much to get the best healthcare. In another video which has gone viral on Twitter, most of the Mohalla clinics are either shut down or never existed.

It seems that the Mohalla clinics were just a poll plank for Arvind Kejriwal.
