The Aam Aadmi Party has seen the Shaheen Bagh protests turn the tide against them as the protests are certainly helping the BJP gaining vital ground as it reduces the gap between itself and the AAP. Shaheen Bagh and Jamia both have witnessed incidents of firing as the opposition tried to peddle the saffron terror narrative. In a sensational revelation by the Delhi Police, Kapil Gujjar, the man who fired shots at Shaheen Bagh is a member of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party.
According to the reports, both Kapil and his father are members of the AAP as they joined the party last year. The Delhi Police uncovered the pictures from Kapil’s phone after the help from their technical team as Kapil had deleted the pics where he can be seen being welcomed to the party by senior AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Atishi Marlena.
As is the case when the AAP is ever caught in its act, Sanjay Singh and the AAP denied any link to the Gujjars and instead hit out at the BJP for ‘cooking up stories’. Responding to the allegations, Sanjay Singh, who is seen in pictures with the shooter, accused the BJP and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of a “conspiracy” and of “indulging in dirty politics”. “Amit Shah is the home minister of the country at this time. Now just before elections, photos and conspiracies will be found,” he said. “With three to four days left for the elections, the BJP will do as much dirty politics as they can. What does having a picture with someone mean?” The photos are proof that the AAP was involved in the firing at Shaheen Bagh as it attempted to tun the narrative against the BJP. There is no doubt that there was a larger conspiracy being planned by the AAP and the arrest of Kapil Gujjar is just the tip of the iceberg.
Gujjar had fired shots at Shaheen Bagh and after being overpowered by the Delhi Police, in a clever move, he started chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’ and shouted ‘Humare Desh main air kisi ki nahi chalegi, sirf Hindu ki chalegi’ which beautifully fitted right into the liberal narrative of saffron terror.
Immediately after the incident, the liberals and their ilk wasted no time in slamming the BJP including journalists like Rahul Kanwal as they together attempted to turn the tide in favour of Arvind Kejriwal ahead of the February 8 elections. Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Deo said, “In our initial investigation, we found some photos from Kapil’s phone that establish that he and his father joined AAP a year ago and he has already disclosed it. We have taken his remand for two days.” Kapil’s father reportedly contested elections twice on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket — from Jangpura in 2008 and then Patparganj four years later. Deo said the photographs, which were deleted, were recovered with the help of a technical team. “The Crime Branch raided Kapil’s place and recovered his phone,” said the official. Unsurprisingly, Gujjar’s family has denied any links with the AAP.
The liberals went into overdrive to peddle the narrative of saffron terror after Kapil Gujjar was caught by the Delhi Police. Islamic fundamentalist Shehla Rashid went as far as claiming that India does not face any threat from Islamic terror and the only real terror threat is that of the radical saffron groups. They conveniently pinned the blame on Anurag Thakur’s divisive speech as they claimed that divisive speeches have consequences.
It was set up beautifully for the AAP and the liberals before the Delhi Police exposed their nefarious agenda. The Delhi Police must not stop at this discovery and must uncover who ordered the shooting because such a large conspiracy couldn’t have taken place without the help of the higher-ups. The AAP is on a sticky wicket and it remains to be seen how it manages to defend itself.
