Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of India, through whom Sonia Gandhi ruled the country for 10 years, has launched an attack on Nationalists who chant slogans like ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai,’ in a speech he made at a book launch event.
The book “Who is Bharat Mata” by Purushottam Agrawal- a JNU professor who idealize Nehru like Ramchandra Guha and is sympathetic to Congress ideology- and Radha Krishna contains essays Autobiography, Glimpses of World History and the Discovery of India; his speeches, essays and letters from pre-independence and post-independence years; and assessment of Nehru by the contemporaries of Nehru, is an attempt to evoke the relevance of Nehruvian era at a time when the country is moving away from his idealistic ideology of pseudo-secularism and Fabian socialism.
It is well-known that not just the Congress but the whole left-liberal establishment which ruled the country for almost seven decades is trying to push back against the rising Nationalist and Hindutva sentiments in the country, as it is not compatible with their ‘idea of India’ which they espouse so dear.
Dr Manmohan Singh, who is on the Centre-right side of the political spectrum as far as economics is concerned, is well-bred into western and Indian liberalism when it comes society, culture, history, military and politics. He is not comfortable that the hegemonic idea of India propagated by Congress party for decades is being challenged by Hindu Nationalism which has been on the margins for most of the time political history of post-independence India.
“It is a book of particular relevance at a time when Nationalism and the slogan of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” are being misused to construct a militant and purely emotional idea of India that excludes millions of residents and citizens,” said former PM Dr Singh in what is nothing less than appalling reaffirms that Dr Singh is shockingly just as rotten as the rest of the lot in Congress which defames Hindus.
“Unfortunately, a section of people who either do not have the patience to read history or would like to be deliberately guided by their prejudices, try their best to picture Nehru in a false light. But I am sure, history has a capacity to reject fake and false insinuations and put everything in proper perspective,” he added.
The 87-year-old Dr Singh whose conscience never forced him to speak against the rampant corruption during UPA era, and self-respect did not trigger to resign after Rahul Gandhi tore the ordinance of his government in parliament, has decided to speak now as the ‘idea of India’ of Congress party, which is so dear to him, is being attacked by the people on right side of political spectrum and rejected by the masses of the country.
Dr Singh did open his mouth when Sonia Gandhi ruled the country through her proxies of National Advisory Council, a body filled with Marxist, radical leftist people who were borderline anti-nationals.
The confidence of New India, which does not takes shit from any country around the globe including the United States and China, whose people are not shy to show their Nationalism and chant Bharat Mata ki Jai- victory to Motherland, seems ‘militant’ to Dr Singh.
Previously, a few months ago, Dr Singh dropped a bomb on the legacy of former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao, who was also his ‘Guru’. Singh has blamed Rao for the 1984 Sikh genocide, which was allegedly carried out by Congress party members on the behest of Rajiv Gandhi. It is believed that Rajiv wanted to take revenge of his mother’s murder, killed by her Sikh bodyguards, in the wake of Operation Blue Star.
“When the sad event of 1984 took place, Gujral Ji on that very sad evening went to the then Home Minister PV Narasimha Rao and said to him that the situation is so grave that the government must call the army at the earliest. If that advice would have been heeded, perhaps the massacre that took place in 1984 could have been avoided,” said Manmohan Singh, in a speech to mark 100th birth anniversary of country’s former prime minister I K Gujral. Now, the 87-year-old former Prime Minister of India, who turned a blind eye to massive corruption under his watch, has decided to ally with Sonia, and spew venom against the man who took him to chair of Finance Minister and also teaching the idea of India to people of the country.
