Anti-CAA mercenaries have killed a cop in Delhi and liberals are blaming BJP leader Kapil Mishra

From Barkha Dutt to Javed Akhtar, common sense has left them

Anti-CAA violence took a turn for the worse on Monday after the anti-CAA rioters went on a rampage in Jaffrabad, Maujpur and other areas of Northeast Delhi. Several videos show how anti-CAA rioters have turned the protest sites into virtual warzones attacking both the Delhi Police and the ordinary citizens. Five have died in the violence, one of whom was head constable Ratan Lal who succumbed to head injuries caused by stone pelted by anti-CAA protesters. He is survived by his wife and three children.

The demise of the Delhi Police Head Constable, identified as Ratan Lal, comes in the backdrop of months of fear-mongering and intense violence against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) across the country.

Facing outrage over the death of the Delhi Police Head Constable and serious injuries to a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) among attacks on several other police personnel, the anti-CAA lobby has now tried to shift the blame onto BJP legislator, Kapil Mishra.

Insensitive, hypocritical vultures that the left-liberals are proving to be, they are showing no real signs of regret over how the National Capital has got engulfed in violence and innocent lives have been lost only because they have been constantly fanning flames and giving rise to communal tensions.

Leading this pack of those who unabashedly tried to pin the blame on Kapil Mishra, Barkha Dutt tweeted, “Head constable of Delhi Police Ratan Lal dies as violent clashes escalate between pro and anti #CAA protesters in North East Delhi. Horrifying news. And a day after an ultimatum by Kapil Mishra that all protests have to be cleared or else.. Whoever responsible must be arrested now.”

However, the claims of Kapil Mishra having caused this turmoil on the streets of Delhi are absurd and deliberately misleading. Taking a look at the larger picture, one would realise how the anti-CAA protesters (read ‘rioters’) had taken their position on Sunday itself- a day prior to the India visit of the US President, Donald Trump that they wanted to sabotage.

Replicating the detestable Shaheen Bagh model, the anti-CAA hooligans had blocked Road no. 66 in Jaffrabad and had also pelted stones at a pro-CAA rally carried out by Kapil Mishra in Maujpur- the same area that witnessed intense violence and the death of a Delhi Police Head Constable on Monday.

The overwhelming majority at the spot of violence consisted of the anti-CAA protesters and Muslim mobs. Yet, the pro-CAA group is being blatantly blamed for the ugly turn that anti-CAA violence has taken in the National Capital.

As far as Kapil Mishra’s remarks are concerned, it is difficult to believe that Mishra’s statements could have caused such a huge commotion. He is not that popular a leader after all and he didn’t also manage to emerge victorious during the Delhi Assembly polls. Men like AAP MLA Amanatullah have mobilised people with more incendiary statements than this. Moreover, crowds on ground have turned out to be predominantly anti-CAA, blaming Kapil Mishra for the violence they unleashed on the streets of Delhi is just bizarre.

More importantly, his remarks though irresponsible have not exactly been provocative. His remarks have been seen as incendiary only by the likes of Barkha Dutt. Far more provocative were the remarks of Waris Pathan when he said, “Now the time has come, we are told that we have sent our mothers and sisters in the front and were sitting covered in blanket… Only our lionesses have come out and you are already sweating. Understand what will happen if we come together. (We maybe) 15 crore, but are heavy on 100 (crore), remember it.”

It is much more likely that Pathan’s remarks could have triggered riots in Delhi, or for that matter, even Sharjeel Imam’s exhortations to the Muslim youth to create large scale ‘disturbance’ in Delhi to grab the attention of international media could have been the immediate cause for the sudden upsurge in violence that the National Capital witnessed yesterday.

In fact, ever since December 15, when Delhi witnessed violence for the first time it is the anti-CAA lobby and Islamists like AAP MLAs- Amanatullah Khan and Abdul Rehman, the one booked for instigating anti-CAA riots in Seelampur in December last year, who have repeatedly incited violence in the National Capital from Jamia Nagar to Seealmpur. Why Kapil Mishra, and not Amanatullah Khan or Abdul Rehman, who have not only been far more provocative but have also won Delhi polls, should be blamed for the riots?

And if irresponsible statements is the criteria of provocation, then even Delhi Minister, Manish Sisodia comes out looking far more provocative given the manner in which he had spread fake news defaming the Delhi Police after Jamia Nagar violence in December and had also stated that he was in support of Shaheen Bagh roadblock in the run-up to Delhi Assembly Elections.

The anti-CAA rioters have a recent history of fomenting violence, not only in the National Capital but also across the country. From Guwahati to Lucknow, every single act of violence over the CAA traces its roots to the rioters-PFI combine.

Even in Delhi, there are clear markings of Islamist fundamentalism in the violence that gripped the National Capital on Monday. It has emerged that the man who fired eight rounds of bullets at the Delhi Police in Northeast Delhi has been identified as Shahrukh. This also debunks all myths of Kapil Mishra provoking and leading violence on the streets of National Capital. It is the anti-CAA ecosystem and fundamentalist organisations like the SIMI-affiliate PFI that have blood on their hands yet again.

In another video from ground zero in Maujpur, a man can be heard shouting, ‘Hindu ki gaadiyan jala di, Hindu ki dukanein jala rahe hain (Cars of Hindus have been burnt, shops of Hindus are being burnt)’ even as a set of rioters pelt stones at burning vehicles. This statement made in the spur of the moment narrates the real story of anti-CAA violence in Delhi on Monday, and it seems nothing like pro-CAA leaders led by a BJP leader going on rampage.

The left-liberal cabal and the anti-CAA lobby have attempted to somehow trivialise and mislead the nation about the sacrifice of the Delhi Police Constable. They continue to blame Kapil Mishra, even demanding his arrest when all circumstances blatantly point towards Islamist fundamentalism and provocations by the anti-CAA lobby that has led to similar mindless violence in the past too.
