Congress has openly dumped Kejriwal. Kejriwal is still sitting with his eyes closed, anticipating a kiss

One sided love affairs are painful

Kejriwal’s affection for the Indian National Congress is well known. From campaigning against the corruption of the incumbent Congress government, to win elections to begging for an alliance with the grand old party before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, life has come a full circle for Kejriwal, alias, Mr ‘Lagbhag’. Despite being soundly rejected by the INC, Kejriwal continues to be soft on the party and is still sitting with his eyes closed, and hoping that the Congress might join him in a political alliance.

Yesterday when the MP Congress took to Twitter to announce that the Kamal Nath government has begin the home delivery of select government services, Kejriwal was caught cosying up with the party as sought to learn from the ‘experiences’ of the MP Congress.

While Kejriwal was busy singing the praises of Congress, Senior Congress leader continued to hit out at Kejriwal. Tharoor took to Twitter and claimed that AAP spent more public money on advertising & marketing than on development and listed out how Kejriwal had failed to solve Delhi’s pressing issues. Earlier this month, Tharoor had labelled Kejriwal as the ‘helpless CM’ as a pissed Tharoor slammed him for failing to meet the injured students of JNU. “Kejriwal perhaps wants both pro and anti-CAA people on his side, so he did not take any strong stand on it. On what basis people should vote for him, if he cannot speak about the issue. Let him read his own tweet now. Do parents want such a helpless CM who when their children are facing lathis, does not meet them.” Mr Tharoor was quoted.

Tharoor stooped to a new low in his criticism of Kejriwal as labelled him as an ‘eunuch’. When CNN News 18 journalist Marya Shakil asked Tharoor what could be the reason behind Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s silence over the recent ongoing anti-CAA protests, he replied, “Mr Kejriwal is trying to have it both ways. He has made statements deploring the CAA-NRC saying why is it necessary, government should withdraw it, but he has not taken any tangible action. He has not even shown the human compassion one expects of the chief minister towards the victims of violence in his own state. In any other states, if the students were bashed up this way, the chief minister of the state would have visited them at home or shown them some concern, gone to their campuses. Mr Kejriwal really wants power without responsibility, which we all know has been the prerogative of the eunuchs for ages. That kind of completely ineffective chief ministerial approach is apparently going to safeguard his space. You can spent your all political life not trying to make enemies but at the end of the day what do you stand for? What values do you represent? What principles are you trying to put forward before the electorate?”

Like a ‘helpless CM’ indeed Kejriwal went public with his dismay as in the run-up to the LS elections, he claimed that Rahul Gandhi refused to forge an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party. Despite being dumped by the Congress, Kejriwal continues to gravitate towards the party. It seems that Kejriwal wants to keep his options open in case Delhi produces a hung assembly.
