Ajay Devgn’s statement on JNU violence is a lesson for all Bollywood celebrities

Do not pick a side if you do not know what's going on

Two days after Juhi Chawla took the anti-CAA brigade to the cleaners, superstar Ajay Devgn has now tweeted on the JNU violence, and pretty much destroyed his colleagues in the industry who have been proactively protesting against the Right wing, BJP and the ABVP. It must be remembered that only days ago, Deepika Padukone landed at the JNU campus to  show solidarity with the Leftists.

Ajay Devgn tweeted, “I have always maintained that we should wait for proper facts to emerge. I appeal to everyone- let us further the spirit of peace and brotherhood, not derail it either consciously or carelessly. #JNUViolence

The comments by Ajay Devgn came moments after the Delhi Police media briefing, in which DCP Joy Tirkey, who is heading the SIT investigating the violence, revealed that a total of nine students had been identified, seven of whom belonged to the Left student bodies and JNUSU (including JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh) and two members of the ABVP. He also revealed that the violence was not to be looked at in a solitary fashion, in the context of what unfolded on the 5th alone, but rather as a continuation of events from 1st January, when JNUSU first began intimidating students against online registration.

Ajay Devgn’s tweet is a very matured and well-thought response against the infantality of some members of Bollywood, who have been protesting against both CAA and JNU violence because the Left has been somewhat successful in pinning the blame on the Right wing. The likes of Anurag Kashyap, Swara Bhaskar, Vishal Dadlani, Tapsee Pannu and others are consciously derailing peace and brotherhood by participating in protests which have inane ‘Free Kashmir’ posters doing the rounds.

Moreover, the sole reason as to why these actors have joined these orchestrated protests is because they have anyway been anti-BJP for as long as memory serves.

Ajay Devgn’s tweet is also aimed against those who are spreading loads of misinformation, fake news and purposeful lies in order to suit their narrative of the BJP directly being involved in the violence.

Devgn has never been a premature reactionary to any given subject. His opinions on any given matter are only shared after he feels there is clarity on the matter. In a world that is hell bent on reacting to almost anything, without having sufficient knowledge about the subject at hand, Ajay Devgn serves as a refreshing voice of sanity.
