The ‘Kiss of Love’ campaign took Kerala by storm in 2014 as the campaign was organised against moral policing and the campaign involved kissing in public spaces. The campaign attracted large swathes of crowds which also had its fair share of controversies. This campaign was started by a model & activist Resmi R Nair and her husband Rahul Pashupalann who went on to become liberal heroes.
It has now been revealed that the couple was helping a gang that supplied children to paedophiles and have been arrested by the Kerala Police under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The duo’s involvement in the online sex racket was suspected by the Kerala Police way back in 2015 and they were arrested for the same but were later released on bail as the Police failed to file a charge sheet. According to a report in The Hindu, Resmi has been named in the charge sheet for allegedly ‘pairing off’ underage girls with wealthy clients looking for paid sex. Rahul was accused of being aware of the racket, and co-operating with it. The charge sheet has been filed, four years after the First Information Report was registered.
It all started in 2015 when IG Sreejith an undercover operation ‘Operation Big Daddy’. The operation resulted in the arrest of several people, after investigations on online advertisement for an ‘escort service’. The police had impersonated as clients and got photographs and other details of the ‘service’ offered by women. The women who were involved in the online sex racket were regarded as subjects of human trafficking and they were let go after counselling.
Among the victims were also two minor girls from Bengaluru and this is what invited the POCSO Act in the charges. The girls had told the police that they were allegedly sexually assaulted and a medical examination confirmed this.
The Crime Branch claims that they had established the guilt of the accused way back in 2015, but the sheer amount of digital evidence against the accused had to be decrypted and finally, after four long years, the police has arrested the rest of the accused. The charge sheet filed by the Crime Branch now claims that there is enough material in the decrypted call records of the first eight accused to show that all of the accused knew the girls involved in the trade. Crime Branch IG Sreejith was quoted, “These guys had used advanced encryption technology that we found hard to crack. Soon it was clear the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) could not do the job. We had to employ higher tools and professionals on payment and hence Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) was thus given the task.” He further said, “The Finance Department had its share of troubles. The Department wanted to know why we had opted for C-DAC when we already had FSL. We had to do a lot of convincing for the Finance to finally yield.”
It is believed that that most of the digital evidence was protected with state of the art encryption which took time to decrypt. Once decrypted it was amply clear that Resmi and Rahul had indulged in the sex trade and were also involved in uploading sexually explicit content on the internet and used to openly make sex offers.
The cybercrime got activated when it saw some peculiar classified advertisements on Locanto and found classifieds with headlines resembling codes like: ‘Real dream girl wild on bed only hot personal women’s erotic-23’ or ‘Exclusive for travellers real Cochin escort service for HI CLA, Goa’.
All these years, the couple took to social media activism as they continued to rant against the BJP government thus etching themselves in the hearts of the left-liberals. Resmi stoked further controversy last year when in a Facebook post she claimed that she rejected an Uber because the cab had a sticker of Lord Hanuman and she felt unsafe due to the sticker because it is a symbol of violence & rape. She also linked it with Kathua rape case and mentioned that using hanuman sticker cab is feeding Rapists and to promote rape culture.

Ironically, Resmi and Rahul have been arrested for their involvement in a sex racket which involved minors. The hypocrisy of the so-called activists stands exposed.
