‘People from UP, Bihar would have to leave Delhi’ : Ahead of Delhi elections AAP loses its senses, spreads fake news over NRC

Kejriwal gone insane (nothing new though)

NRC, AAP

Less than 3 months are left in Delhi Assembly election-2020, and AAP has started fooling the people with fake news to mislead them, as it did in last assembly election. AAP came to power by maligning the image of many senior leaders like- Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari, with the charges of corruption, which the party could not prove in court. In fact, Arvind Kejriwal went to an apology spree (he apologized to Gadkari, Jaitley, and many other leaders) to avoid any punishment from the courts. The entire campaign of the party in the last election was based on castigation of other leaders as ‘corrupt’.

In the assembly election-2020, the party aims to make National Registrar of Citizens (NRC) as its weapon to malign BJP, which poses main opposition to the party.

The party is spreading the fake news that ‘if NRC is implemented, the people from UP & Bihar would have to leave Delhi’. The people from UP and Bihar voted in huge numbers for AAP in the last election, given its populist promises of free electricity, water, education, and health. The party has not been able to deliver on these promises and fears losing its most loyal vote bank.

Therefore, the party has decided to spread a ‘fear psychosis’ among the Purvanchali people that- BJP is planning to drive them out of the city. In fact, the party is going to hold a protest against Central government’s NRC plan, told party’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh. “Our Purvanchali unit headed by Gopal Rai will sit on a protest at the Jantar Mantar on Sunday against the NRC’s implementation which the government is planning to carry out in the whole country,” he said

NRC has nothing to with the migrant population of Delhi. It will be nationwide exercise, carried out by the central government to filtrate the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and the Rohingyas.

Before the implementation of NRC, the government will implement the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), under which the people coming from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan where the Hindus, Jain, Buddhist, Sikhs, Parsi, Christian form minority and have lived for 6 or more years in India will be eligible for citizenship.

NRC will be used to identify the illegal immigrants (mainly Muslims from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan), and deport them to respective countries. NRC has nothing to do with the migrants of UP and Bihar, which AAP is trying to prove.

The AAP’s attempt to create confusion over NRC, and petty politics over an issue of National Interest, has drawn sharp criticism from the leaders of BJP. “Only Kejriwal has confusion over NRC. This is the understanding of the Delhi chief minister. But it is not what people understand, they know that no country allows illegal infiltrators to stay,” said Prakash Javdekar, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

There are many other parties like- Congress, Trinamool Congress, CPI(M), which have opposed the implementation of NRC but- these parties are fighting at the ideological level, instead of trying to create confusion among the common citizens of the country, over such important legislation of National Interest. Only AAP has stooped so low!

The NRC will be used to identify the illegal Bangladeshi migrants, who moved to India in the wake of 1971 Bangladesh liberation war when Pakistan carried out mass murder, torture, and rape of the people of Bangladesh. The Rohingyas, who migrated to India from Myanmar have become a security threat to the country, could also be identified and deported if NRC is implemented. This will help in the improvement of security of Delhi, as thousands of Rohingyas are living in Delhi, and are involved in illegal activities.

But, AAP is trying to create fear of NRC among the Purvanchalis, just to grab the votes. Given the fact that AAP has not been able to deliver on its populist promises, the party is set to lose support base among the migrant voters. The party wants to make for its incompetence by fear of NRC. Last time, the party’s shameful act of castigation of every leader as corrupt worked very well, the fear psychosis about NRC might work too, but it will harm the National Interest.
